Why 25k?

Well, 100k makes too much noise, even though lots of people use it.

10k was tempting, but in filters/EQs, it tends to require capacitor values that are hard to get in C0G ceramics (>100nF).

50k is for undecideds

When I first got a Cricut it changed my life and I didn't want to do anything else, that shit is cool. But then I got another new machine, and another, and another, and another...

A friend is a production manager for a large format printer, they do all sorts of crazy stuff. They have 5-6 machines that do nothing but cut the substrates including 2 that are basically cnc machines.

Sadly, I can't use them to print for me. The smallest machine they have is 48in wide, so 48x4 inches just doesn't make financial sense for them when the client behind them is printing 3 miles.

Keftone is legit. They do a lot of OEM work for bigger named companies. I have quite a few sets of their Strat pickups and a couple set of Tele.

Installed these HB sized P90s and I’m really happy they revealed to be surprisingly noise and hum free. Better than HBs I have! Another benefit is tamed microphonics.

Got all of their bass, and some of their guitar pre-amps, for the modular amp build. The Meridian is to be used as (multifunctional) limiter (one for each speaker), because of the experimental / feedback-y nature of the instruments I run.

I'm expecting a delivery this Monday with all the 25k pots. All in all, I (will) have 4 kinds of pots:

Dual C10k
Dual C100k
Single 25k linear with center detent (great for Baxandall EQs, less noise than the common 100k)
Single 25k log, no detent (active volume)

All variants have the bushing/shaft as per the drawing above.

I have no problem shipping to the US, but the pots are made in China. What's the tariff situation these days for MIC stuff?

Not sure what the tariff situation is this week (or tomorrow), but I'll look into it since I need to do a JLC3dp order soon. All those values are useful but I already have a ton of dual 100kC with switches on hand right now. I will be in touch, thanks.

FWIW, I've been using 50k for Bax circuits for quite a while, but 25k with a detent and long bushing is all the better.

I read about how the hyped fuzz and meatbox go great parallel. And as usual, I try to buy a second similar type, which is the Octarock octaver.

Got my SB delivery. There was one hiccup, but I’m not gonna stress about it. I didn’t need the c100k anyway. On another note I must live really close to them because if I order some stuff there at noon today, it will be here tomorrow by 10 AM. That’s with the Postal Service or with UPS. That’s probably why I order so much from them. LMS takes about four days.

Sylvania 12AX7 from ‘59 according to the date code. Looks like it’s never been touched. Sounds strong as hell as most Sylvanias are.

1mm engraving quality brass. Amp is going to be put aside for some time, as to finish an older restoration project (chitravina (a search for "veena" here shows the instrument - all the plastic must become brass)), because I feel the need to build something with the promise of a finish line on the horizon.

My obsessive autistic focus needs to be shaken loose.



Guess I'll have to buy a brake soon. Also for the amp's zinc plating.
