It started about not really getting the allure of a pedal for $400 that is supposed to make your tone sound "bad"

You know Primus Sucks is like the fan chant right? I imagine so but just checking ha!
Not here to care just to say 27 mostly unique (stylistically) albums in 14 years is impressive. The live show is also quite good.
I would still listen to them if they didn't take their music off Spotify to cut off their nose to spite the owner doing what he wants with his own money. But I digress ....
I don't like tiny amps.

Nah, just sounds like you're the sorta guy who thinks telling people what you hate is the basis of a personality.
It's not.
It just makes you insufferable to interact with.
Ps. You know the "Primus sucks" thing is a bit from the band itself...right?

I’d suggest dissolving egos and writing some uncanny vibed pedal building stories.

If quantity is your bar for quality then buckethead is the greatest musician ever.
Damn, I've been going to Primus shows for 30 years and never realized why everyone was seeing a band they were chanting sucked. Liking weird music doesn't make you intelligent or more fun to interact with. I am also not telling anyone what to like more trying to see why people like it other than "but this band that endorses it."

Hey now... Just because I can post a screenshot doesn't mean I know anything. ...
But the Rattler has the same thing so again I would say it's something to do with switching. This is just a guess, but since it's based on some tiny amp I can't imagine anything digital is going on minus how they're managing to control all the latching and switching options.

Not a huge fan, but I can easily admit that they are very talented as a band. They create complex albums, release a TON of music, and shift between many different genres. If Yes and Genesis had a baby, it would be the Gizz. I respect them because they are talented, they produce all of their own music, and have used a local Australian artist to create all of their artwork.
Also, $400 is expensive........and ALL of JAM's pedals are expensive, so par for the course for that company.

I’m not huge gizz fan but my buddy is obsessed so I went with him to a show here in Chicago. Their live show was an amazing experience. The musicianship and varied material made for a highly entertaining live show even tho I hadn’t listened to the songs before. They have my respect for that alone. But they remain interesting even with high volume of output.

I’ve haven’t heard them so I’ll have to take a listen. But for $400 a pedal WITHOUT a tube is a lot of money. I can almost buy an AC15 for that. With patience I probably could. Not bashing anyone…it’s your money. Just isn’t something I’m prepared to pay that much for.
I paid that amount in the 90's for a hotbox.
Eventually sold it because I kept turning knobs to get rid of the bees in a can sound it had with my ac30 in TB channel.
But every new pedal I build I keep playing the songs and riffs from that time to see if it is capable to hit the benchmark that is in my head.
It was worth the money. But then again did you see the latest That Pedal Show video, about the Boss BE5 against Boutique pedals?

It's a cool pedal. The band is cool, or at the very least more interesting than 99% of other bands out there. And I'm not even someone who listens to them
