    Parenthesis Mini - components questions

so . . . . My DMM showed a day early AND . . . . . My resistors DO test to 460 - it WAS blue and not lavender. Capacitors for C12 test to 30p despite being labelled 33p I have two well-matched pairs of 5817s. One pair at .122 - the other at .123 The populating commences . . . . . Thanks...

    Parentheses Fuzz w/ video

If I may ask . . . . where did you come by the rotary switch? I'm on the waiting list for the pPCB switch and have the Mini under way (so I'm in NO hurry), but will likely follow up shortly after all debugging is done on the Mini with a full Parenthesis.

My bass is an octave lower than that - this'll be fun!

    Parenthesis Mini - components questions

I got other 47* resistors for this project - this violet looks substantially more blue comparatively. Part of my asking was to see if my perception of violet is 'off'. I have a new multimeter on its way in days - we shall soon see. 🤪

    Parenthesis Mini - components questions

There's a sh!tpot of 'em - ought I test every resistor, or just the ones I don't have perfect components for? I had no idea there is concern for variances on 'em. I got double the parts so I have coverage. My biggest concern with the diodes is that they match each other in the octave circuit...

    I have a weee multimeter . . . .

I found a Fluke 101 for $50 new. https://www.fluke.com/en-vn/product/electrical-testing/digital-multimeters/fluke-101 I had Chuck's issue - my RadioShack only went to 1K resistance. It being analogue is cute but a detriment as well. Turns out I tend to my stuff - my RadioShack was got decades...

Brilliant. Thanks all - trigger pulled!

    Pignose to Chuck

    No one phone-shames here . . . . . . 🤪

    I have a weee multimeter . . . .

right . . . I'm often accused of over-compensating. 🤪 The multimeter I have runs on too little current - the ohm meter tops out at 1k. So base line is one that runs on one or more 9v batteries or plugs into a wall

    I have a weee multimeter . . . .

Just rudimentary stuff really - most important at present is measuring reasonably accurately the forward voltage on LEDs and diodes. I want to keep it around $50. If I have to spend more for accuracy so be it.

    I have a weee multimeter . . . .

. . . . it runs on a pair of AAA batteries. AND its analog. I need to match diodes and this one won't help me. I think I need a bigger-boy toy - recommendations?

    possible to have XLR in/out?

I rabbit holed this . . . . For a time I came out of my bass with a balanced signal - a humbucking pickup can be wired to produce a balanced signal. Tricky part from there is you need a balanced signal path or it doesn't mean all that much. Negates pedals nearly entirely. It was REALLY cool to...

    Parenthesis Mini - components questions

Three components specifically. First; on review I was sent what appears to be 460k resistors for R19, R29 and R30. Two questions; do my eyes deceive me on the values I got, and will these work? Second; I could not for the life of me find a 30p cap for C12 (Small Bear) and acquired a 33p for...

Greengage... I think I found another one I'm going to keep.

I came by the toggle dress nut for my Parenthesis - if they had a beefy hex nut to 'match' the stomp switch nut you used THAT'D be the bee's knees. As well I came by round, knurled shallow flat nuts for both stomp and toggle switches - options is good!

Greengage... I think I found another one I'm going to keep.

The larger nut looks killer - I wish someone made something similar for toggles

. . . . maybe it's 'cuz I just watched Batman, but I like the green knobs too - kind of a 'Joker' vibe.

Triple Pedal - Super Fuzz / Russian Muff / Rat with video

so . . . . . if you combine all of this with an octave circuit what would it look like? Like . . . . potentially octave up AND octave down into the three distortions. Is that even POSSIBLE?
