    Victory... For the Win!

Thanks! Like the Kraken, the Jack has a higher noise floor than I'd like when the gain is past noon, but nothing terrible. Same on both the PedalPCB and vero builds. The only mod I made to all 3 pedals was switching out the Volume pots to audio taper. Otherwise, huge volume ramp up in the...

    Victory... For the Win!

I finished up my third in the series of Victory V1 pedals last night - The Jack, AKA The Joker. Built the PedalPCB Cetus (Kraken) a few months ago, The Cobbler (The Copper) and now the Jack on Vero. Loving using each of these pedals. The Copper is 100% Vox AC30, and has become my "almost"...

    Amp-Like Channel Switching for Pedals

This is great - thanks Robert! So, with 3 effects in "Channel switching" mode, would I wire it up like this? (I assume I'll need 3 Relay Bypass Modules):

    Amp-Like Channel Switching for Pedals

Here’s my concept (probably not that original)… I’ve built 3 Victory V1 pedals that I really like. I’d like to emulate the channel switching of a 3-channel amp - P1 (clean); P2 (crunch); P3 (lead). Like the channel switching on an amp, I want 3 foot switches, and whichever one I stomp on, it...

    SOLVED Oasis tone control issue?

Are you sure you're using all the correct resistor values here? Maybe the colors in the pic are off, but these values look suspect to me. Assuming the bottom resistor (R19) is a 1% metal film (last band brown), that would be an 80K - whereas R19 on the board and schematic show 10K. I'd...

    SOLVED Oasis tone control issue?

Is the tone pot good? Measure resistance across lugs 1 and 3 of the 5K pot - should be in the neighborhood of 5K. This is normally the last place I'd look, but I recently had a build with a bad pot - got an infinite ohms reading - replaced it, and all was good.

    Tayda PCB for 1590B enclosure

I use 1590B's whenever possible. You just need to take into account the overall/effective length of the board + pots, as the board-mounted pots will extend quite a bit beyond the top end of the board.

Cobbler Preamp - No output from IC1

Always socket ICs - no matter how skilled you are at building pedals. I think we’ve all learned the hard way. And even if the IC is not the culprit, the act of desoldering and removing it will invariably destroy it (or the board).

Cobbler Preamp - No output from IC1

    If I'm not mistaken, you shouldn't be getting any DC voltages on pins 1,2,3 and 5,6,7 on the two opamps. My voltage readings (with no audio signal, just the 9.2 Volts connected from my power supply): IC1 and IC2: 1. 0 8. 7.48 2. 0 7. 0 3. 0 6. 0 4. -7 5. 0 IC100: 1. 7.48 8...

Cobbler Preamp - No output from IC1

No other suggestions for now, other than to thoroughly scrub both sides of the board with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol, to make sure that there's no hidden solder bridges or stray strands of wire. I hope you get this working, as this is a fantastic pedal - I just built one (on vero) and...

Cobbler Preamp - No output from IC1

Are you sure you're measuring correctly? The voltages at Pin 4 of both IC1 and IC2 should be the same as IC100 Pin 5. Take a look at the schematic in the lower left, and follow the pin numbers of each IC: https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/Schematic-Cobbler.png

Low profile 1 uf film capacitor for Low Tide Mini

Not really relevant to your question about low profile film caps, but I just got a bunch of these low profile electrolytics from Small Bear - tiny compared to a “regular” 1uF, and rated at 50V!

SOLVED Cepheid Chorus: No Sound but LEDs work

Any chance you have a short/solder bridge here? I'd suggest getting some isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush and thoroughly cleaning both sides of the board, and then reflow solder joints, as suggested above. Also, since you haven't socketed your IC's, there's no easy way to switch out any of...

Fun with 1590A Enclosures - BS-301 preamp ("Brain Seltzer")

There was a question recently about getting a rockabilly tone, and the suggestion came up for the Roland Space Echo (BS-301) preamp (Brain Seltzer "Noctune" pedal). I was intrigued by this, so looked up the schematic and breadboarded it. It sounded surprisingly good, even though 1) I'm not...
