Boutique Pedal Manufacturers Are Feeling the Tariff Pinch

Except that in the current politics of the US, it's a minority that is attempting and succeeding in imposing a radical right wing consensus and political reality as the status quo. They literally want to move the United States backwards to before the great depression or earlier in some aspects...

    Général Tso, i’m stuck

Could you possibly post a pic of the board with offboard connections as well? This board has peculiar wiring, so it could be just as simple as that. You also have to cover the LDR/LED assembly while testing the circuit to prevent the intrusion of light other than the LED. When you say...

    Epic fail recovery (L4 functioning)

My fair Canadian brother, It's totally all good. Sorry for being unclear, I don't know how to do the drawing on pictures thing. I don't think I'm helping much either, but I am all in for helping my bud figure this out, and since I can't really speak to complex circuit analysis and diagnostic...

    Epic fail recovery (L4 functioning)

Well if you can see it on the 5817 (bottom pic) alright, I still can't. [edit: not bottom pic, that's the 4742; the 5817 is to the left of the rightmost switch. I don't see a stripe at all] IC 4 is upside down?

    Epic fail recovery (L4 functioning)

Right, but then the daughterboard wires are referencing the wrong/opposite connections on the main board. Like -15 is going into +15. No? I mean, my spatial reasoning can't be that off, right? I'm specifically looking at the pic in post 16 showing the full assembly and daughterboard...

    Epic fail recovery (L4 functioning)

Everything looks okay component and orientation-wise for the electrolytics, but I didn't check resistor values--except I can't see the 5817 stripe on either shot--could that be it? If not, I'd doublecheck that the Traco module is a correctly compatible one. Maybe check for continuity between...

    Epic fail recovery (L4 functioning)

Well, you could just go troubleshooting ham on the breakout board since it's so limited. I would do ALL the probes (except audio) Can we get closeups on both sides? My guess would be something polar that's flipped or off-spec --maybe even the Traco module--maybe a trace or short issue...

    Epic fail recovery (L4 functioning)

Mine is wholly dysfunctional around the compressor. Like not-good signal grodyfiying distortion dysfunction. But that's a totally separate thread... Go, go, mybud, go!!

    Epic fail recovery (L4 functioning)

ooooohhh yeeeeaaaahhhh... good point. I have a looper pedal that just doesn't work with some plugs because it needs too much juice.

    Epic fail recovery (L4 functioning)

I see a lot of missing ICs, resistors, wiring, switches and jacks. Could have something to do with the lack of signal hahahaha If it's any consolation, my L4 works, but definitely developed issues--in the compressor section, I think. I'm also not looking forward to wading into those waters...

DEMO Breadboard Rig builds [Eight Ball Overdrive (Marshall JCM800 Pedal) / Mofeta (EAE Model feT)]

Having built many of the Marshall emulations here, I'm curious to know how it stacks up to the PAL 800/M 800

    The Howling Overdrive (PPCB Lycan)

Very nice build and 80s horror aesthetics. Yeah, I think "overdrive" for this pedal is a bit of a misnomer in my mind. "Chug maker" would be a better name for it, or just "boost." Doesn't really do much spectacularly on its own, needs to feed another distorting pedal/amp. "Lycan.... the...

    Schematics missing from the store

I don't disagree that supplying the missing schematics for circuits that are chronically problematic is a good idea, though... it might even be positively beneficial. Low Tide and Acrobat, for example.

    Something like the Carbon Copy

What about the aion Elysium/Ibanez em-5 echo machine? I don't know about delay times and not really modulated, but it is a 3-knob delay that sounds great Otherwise, moonn dromtydning! Just kidding, it's not 125b, it's complicated, and skews to ambient/experimental. But it is super fun

SOLVED Acrobat - filter section not working

I don't know that I helped much, but I'm stoked you figured it out. I was about to do some tracing.

SOLVED Acrobat - filter section not working

Since the switch is symmetrically arranged, I would imagine that there should be a something on the pin neighboring the one with the X. I would bet it's the one with the X. That is perhaps your issue. I think you could also check for continuity with the switch pins and the banks of resistors...
