That's not really the issue, I love many of the drives on my list and am not in need of anything in particular. I just love the exploration of trying new things, and was wondering what holes I might still have in my "pedal curriculum"

I'm confused by "the same point." The current flows through D1, and then reaches a point where it could flow to D2 or D4. They are the same part so I don't understand why there's a voltage difference toward one (D2) but not the other (D4).

Mine was also a bit bright and lacking in bass. I subbed in a JRC4580 op amp and that evened the tone a bit and just sounds a little better overall. JRC4580 is a bit hard to find now, I think I got mine at Small Bear years ago but they don't have any now. I don't know how close the TI version...
