Tayda UV Printing: Doing Both Gloss-M AND Gloss-V?

Never mind, I believe I answered my own question. When uploading the design PDF to Tayda's website, it asks you which gloss type you have selected, either matte or varnish. It does not appear that both can be done in the same design. Oh well!

Tayda UV Printing: Doing Both Gloss-M AND Gloss-V?

Ok, so I'm finalizing a design and getting all of my layers ready in Affinity Designer. At the last second, I thought it would be cool to have the main logo done with the gloss varnish, and then the text/controls in the matte. Is this doable? The template that Tayda gives for the layers says...

SOLVED Tommy III - hums and squeals

Hmm. Yea looking at the schematic I’m not sure R5 would have that effect. Hum sounds like a ground issue to me. Squealing seems like a feedback issue to me. Have you tested it IN the enclosure and it’s not working? Have you tested it OUT of the enclosure and it’s not working? Both?

You may still need to jumper R5?

Son Of Ben Q2 Bias Question - affected by gain knob?

Appreciate it! I'm pretty sure I read something like that as well, but I can't seem to track it down. Something about "gain to max" and then bias. I gave the schematic another once over, and I think maybe I'm seeing what's going on, but I'm still a novice at this. Leg two of the "drive" pot is...

Advice and recommendations need- what pedal is my customer looking for?

Cast Iron Overdrive (Lollar Overdrive). Basically a Timmy-ish with a mids control. Perfect for adding a bit of grit with a lot of control over the EQ section to boost/cut what’s needed. I use it a lot to boost the mids for leads and give it just a hair more gain.

Son Of Ben Q2 Bias Question - affected by gain knob?

Ok, I know there are a bunch of threads about biasing the Son Of Ben, and even more about just biasing in general, but I could not find an answer to this. I have built two separate pedals that need biasing (3-4 of each), one being the Son of Ben (Benson Preamp) and the other being the Taqueria...

Drill templates - page properties ?

Paper size should be "Letter" (8.5" x 11"). Print scale should be "Actual Size" or "Default" or something along those lines. What exactly isn't lining up? Pictures?

Some potentiometers have a ground short when tightened

LED bezel? I had this exact issue with a build. When I would tighten down a specific pot, it would short. Drove me nuts. Turns out that once tightened down, the pot was contacting the nut of the LED bezel, which was in contact with the washer, which was in contact with the enclosure, which was...

SOLVED Angry Charles - little to no sound

Occam’s Razor? Im guessing you did, but did you make sure to turn the volume and drive knobs clockwise? If so, next step would be double-checking the polarity on electrolytic caps, but they look ok based on the build docs. After that, it’s audio probe time.

    JRC4559D (NJM4559D) - Help me out

Thank you both! So, from what I gather, it’s mainly the digits that I’m worried about. So the JRC or NJM or RC doesn’t really mean much, it’s just the 4559 portion that I need to focus on?

    JRC4559D (NJM4559D) - Help me out

Hey all, I have a couple of builds coming up that call for the JRC4559D (Sliver and Stagecoach), but sourcing this part seems a bit difficult, with the only real option being AionFX. I will also be building a Cast Iron soon, which calls for the RC4559, which is readily available at...

Lytt Effects Benny the Jet (Son of Ben - Benson Preamp)

Lytt Effects is proud to present the: Benny the Jet The PCB: obviously from the fine folks here at PedalPCB. The layout of this one, like with most projects, is easy to read, follow, and work with. The bias instructions are also super helpful to get it into the ballpark, and then adjust to...

    Octave Fuzz For Bass

So, one of my buddies commissioned an octave/fuzz for his bass rig. Can anyone offer recommendations for a PedalPCB board setup that will work for this? We are not opposed to doing an all-in-one PCB for octave/fuzz, or a 2-in-1 with one board for fuzz, one for octave. I would actually prefer...

Lytt Effects First Rule (AionFX Gladiator - Duellist)

Lytt Effects is proud to present the: First Rule (of overdrives) The PCB: the Gladiator from AionFX, which is a trace of the King Tone Duellist. Overall an easy build, but I do prefer the part values on the PCB rather than the part number. I understand the why behind it though, as it’s slightly...

SOLVED LED BEZEL - Pro-10: Green side not working when boxed

Nylon washers to the rescue! @andrewsrea and @DailyDovetails thank you for the tips, tricks, and advice. Thanks to your input, I was able to isolate the issue to a local component, which brought me to a solution. The washer/nut on my LED bezel was grounding, and was tight enough in the...

Lytt Effects 1984 UPDATE (Informant - DRV)

UPDATE: Had enclosures done over at @amplifyfun and I love how this one turned out. If you don’t get the reference, check out 1984 by George Orwell the next time you’re at the library. Or Amazon it ;) Enclosure is the Taya 125B in matte red sand texture.
