    Pitch Witch

I built one too. I kinda like it, but I haven't figured out how to make it musical yet. Probably doesn't help that I am a bass player. Sometimes I wonder how this would play in a synth rig.

    Pedal PCB Roboto

Thanks for sharing this. I like build reports like this one so I don't waste time and money chasing an obscure, out-of-production chip to end up with a pedal that just makes weird noises.

    Not much room to spare…

Welcome to the forum. Yes, the enclosures are often the most difficult part of these builds (at least they are for me). The first thing I learned is that where you get your parts counts, and the second thing I learned is that putting your little masterpiece in a tiny metal box an making it...

    Led orientation

I actually think it's French, but what does that have to do with Cathode?
  5. chris.knudson

    Led orientation

It's actually because the German word for Cathode is Kathode -- hence the K.

    Led orientation

It's pretty universal that the long lead is the positive lead -- seems odd that you would have gotten LEDs where that wasn't the case -- are you sure the board was labeled correctly?

    Led orientation

And there it is -- the most useful piece of advice I've gotten from this forum.

    J201 Possibly Not Real

I've bought J201s off of Amazon that I am pretty sure aren't legit, but they do work and seem to be in spec. Having said that, I've had enough problems with bogus parts that I just don't trust them. I've started switching to SMD parts from Mouser that I am pretty confident will work as expected.

    X

I love the color and the graphics. Very clean build as well.

    Very nice!

    Duo-phase

That works, but I hope you figure it out.

    Duo-phase

LED popping is the worst. Hopefully you can find a solution. It's really hard to have a pedal on your board that doesn't have an indicator light unless it's an always on pedal. Also, the graphic is really nice. I've been toying with graphics ideas for my Wavelord, and this is inspiring me.

    Top Five

I do use the amp modelers on the HX Stomp -- that's really one of the main reasons to use the Stomp, but I play through an amp. Usually I play through a Gallen Kruger MB210 our whatever is provided with the backline. Although most of the time I'm going direct from the board to front of house...

May the Fuzz be with You

Personally I think the film-free waterslides are easier to work with. I've had a lot of problems with waterslides stretching and curling under around the edges. Might have just been a lack of experience with them, but once I tried the film-free, I won't go back to regular waterslides.

May the Fuzz be with You

@mkstewartesq turned me on to film-free waterslides, and they are definitely the way to go if you are using laser printed waterslides. There are a couple of extra steps involved, but IMO they are easier to work with and deliver a much more professional result.

I wasn't disappointed by the XC Phase. It's probably my second most favored pedal.

I built an XC Phase, which I think is awesome, and the thumbsucker in quickly rising in my build pile.

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

You don't need build docs for the ADHD. I've built two without them. Just follow the PCB, and you'll be fine. I do have the Sproing Deluxe in my build pile, but @Robert will probably post the build docs before I ever get around to building it -- in a few years.
