When you check with the audio probe, have you tried starting at the output to see if you hear the hum then? If so, working backwards to the point where the hum stops might help you isolate the problem. Given the intermittent results with the audio probe, I think the issue is a connection with...

@szukalski -- Any progress testing the PCB for this? I would like to order one of the boards. Also, I built this on vero and all the controls are working and all part values verified. But the output level is lower than I expected and I don't get much distortion unless I run a high level...

try reflowing the solder connections for all of the capacitors on the PCB.

I like the reflections from the labels on the shiny knobs.

The materials for UV printing apparently do more than look killer. Nasty stuff used to great effect!

Yes. The goal is to get the board working on the test platform. Then after you know it is working you get the LED working. Then you move it into the enclosure and keep it working.

I think you should double check the wiring to make sure the audio like of the output is properly connected to your output jack.

time to use your audio probe. do you know how to do it? a few minutes with a google search should get you started if you do not.

the SWitch wire carries power for the LED so it is not required when you are testing the board. it just lets you know when the effect is engaged when everything is boxed up. you may have a problem the way it is wired but you can save it for last in your troubleshooting.

the SW wire is just for the LED, right? leave it unconnected until everything else is working. it is a possible source for the problem you had but should not stop the board from working when it is not hooked up to power.
