    SOLVED Busted TS9 - Troubleshooting

Well considering the mistake was reverse polarity, I guess I could replace all the polarized caps ?

    SOLVED Busted TS9 - Troubleshooting

The only one I found is this. I agree with you that the voltage divider is not providing the expected 4.5V. But I don’t understand how I could lose 2V in this part Of the circuit. The only difference is that the Zener D8 was replaced by a schottky… Could this be it ? I’d be surprised.

    SOLVED Busted TS9 - Troubleshooting

    Ok so for R32 and R33 based on voltage I assumed it was these 2, marked A an B A reads 3.35V and 9.04V B reads 3.35V and 0V

    SOLVED Busted TS9 - Troubleshooting

Ok, so voltage at the 47u is 3.37V, so not at the expected 4.5V. as for the 1815, well there are 4, so not sure which one we need here. I checked them all at C and E. Based on this picture: A and B read identical - E: 2.9V and C:9.06V C reads E: 1.2V C: 0.65V D reads E: 0.24V C: 6.03V E...

    SOLVED Busted TS9 - Troubleshooting

Dear experts, I got my hand on a busted TS9, and offered a friend to troubleshoot the issue. Long story short, he inserted a 12v reverse polarity adaptor, saw or smelled the smoke and voila. Remotely, we had identified that the reverse polarity/voltage regulator diode had broken in half, D8 in...

    Super Stevie OD

I would say that this board is small enough to fit 2 footswitch side by side if you raise them up a bit. However they could be too close to each other to be easily selected with your foot. Never thought if it really...

Like @Bricksnbeatles said, just a 1/2w that needed to fit. No mod.

    1N4001 vs 1N5817 TS9-busted

OK so let’s see if I get this right. The design is not to use the diode as a fuse but to open a quick path for the current to ground therefore not sending the reverse current to other component, correct ? Now if it completely busted in half and didn’t offer that quick path anymore, therefore...

    1N4001 vs 1N5817 TS9-busted

I have a friend with a TS9 that failed after plugging in reverse polarity from a 12v adaptor - smoke, crackle, pop…. After visual inspection it appears that a diode busted, it actually seems to have popped in half. After research I found this part of the TS9 power circuit: I didn’t quite...

    Tayda Enclosure shrink wrap issue

Maybe give a shot to lighter fuel (nafta) ? But as mentionned looks like the powder coat wasn’t cured. It may actually not been adhesive, but patterns left in the finish ?

Connecting Breakout Boards on Dual Switch Pedal?

This is Episode Boost and Dirty Sanchez OD. Please note that the order switching breaker board is a specific one. It fits on a 4PDT and leaves the 3 lugs on the right for the dual led. If you look carefully you’ll notice that I put a resistor attached to each of the dual LED leg. It’s in the red...

Connecting Breakout Boards on Dual Switch Pedal?

I would have used one of my own build pictures. But I use an order switch to pick which FX goes first. All of it on a 4PDT switch to also activate a dual LED matching the FX LED letting me know which one is first. But that may have confused you :D
