Power issues for the new BE board

Here are some pics of the Black Eye Board. As noted above, when it is plugged in the incoming 9v power drops to 4.4v, something that does not happen on the first version of the BE (or any of my other sushibox builds). Note that I am not wiring in a footswitch but I think the 3 sets of...

Power issues for the new BE board

voltages were with the empty sockets, but were similar at 113 when the tubes were present. I put the 5K trimmer in to see what the voltage range would be because I wanted to see if I could get it higher than 113. it peaks at about 130. I am going to play with it a bit more this weekend and...

Power issues for the new BE board

I have put together a new BE board and it is not working for me. With a 9v supply that runs the other sushibox pedals with no issues, I am only getting about 113 volts on each tube socket. Cleaned the board with IPA and I have confirmed all part values and connections between the components on...

    Low Tide DIP Switch orientation

I am just referring to the 1 and 2 and the "on" label. put it whichever way you think looks best when you are looking at the board.

    Low Tide DIP Switch orientation

just for neatness I would install it with the numbers oriented with the footswitch at the "bottom". either orientation will work for the switch.

Why Does My Space Heater Only Like NOS RCA Tubes?

have you measured the voltage on your tubes to see what they are for the heater and main voltage? after you check it for the NOS RCA tube that works, see if the voltages change when you switch out the tubes.

    Lab Rat build!

Probably enough room there to use 16mm pots. Of course I imagine you could fit 16mm pots in some of the redesigns that use the new perpendicular tube daughter boards.

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

I have had the power amp with the buffer/boost built for a few years and am just noting it works well with the output of the tube preamps. They work well at either end of my pedal chain, so I don't think that is too surprising. There probably is enough output from the Sushibox pedals to not...

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

FWIW, I built a small LPB1 buffer board with a trim pot and placed it inside a 1590BB box using one of these small amps. It works really well with the output from the Sushibox tube builds.

    Algorithmic Reverb for Terrarium

The download worked fine for me so long as you find the file where you click on it and it downloads automatically. I had trouble in the past where right-clicking to save the bin file did not work. It really opens up the sonic landscape from the Daisy. And putting the Lowtide in front of it...

    Algorithmic Reverb for Terrarium

quite a challenge to translate so many options into the controls on the terrarium but it seems like there is a lot of potential there and you are off to a great start with it. Instead of using the toggles for changing the number of delay lines, could you use those 16 combinations to create...

    Algorithmic Reverb for Terrarium

if the chip supports it you could use that approach for up to 16 delay lines (noting I left off some combinations in the list above)

    Algorithmic Reverb for Terrarium

    Since the 4 switches are used to activate delay lines, can you program them as base 2 markers to get up to 11 delay lines? 0000 / 000X / 00X0 / 00XX /0X00 / 0X0X / 0XXX / X000 / X00X / X0XX / XXXX

DEMO Snozzberry Overdrive! (One Control Strawberry Red OD)

thanks for posting the translated discussion about the pedal. muscadines are found in western NC (and no doubt elsewhere). I heard people talk about drinking muscadine wine when I was growing up but I don't think I have ever seen any. but plenty about muscadines on the internet

    Using a reactive load

I may be off the mark here. I was thinking you would get enough output to drive the speaker from the reactive load box but that might not be the case. If you've got the equipment already I would give it a try and see. if the output is too low you still might not need the cab sim depending on...

    Using a reactive load

what are you trying to accomplish using the tube amp/load box/cab sim/powered amp setup you describe? ihave you tried just putting the reactive load between the power amp and speaker in the DSL40C? my guess is that the output from the reactive load box will be too high for the cab sim input.

DEMO Snozzberry Overdrive! (One Control Strawberry Red OD)

that is the only version I could find. you can do a google image search for "strawberry red overdrive schematic" and get a link to a non-English site with the image.

DEMO Snozzberry Overdrive! (One Control Strawberry Red OD)

The red diodes are in the feedback loop. I like the sound of this pedal better without the red diodes because there is still ample drive but more high end definition. I tried a few other diodes instead and so far the BAT46 do it for me. Here is the schematic --

    Boneyard Delegate Compressor

nice clean build. I usually think of compression as a tool for other things in a pedal chain instead of a separate effect.

    TO-5 Sockets

you can also use the inline sockets individually soldered into the three holes. and easy enough if you put each one on your transistor lead to position them on your board when you solder them.
