I am just referring to the 1 and 2 and the "on" label. put it whichever way you think looks best when you are looking at the board.

just for neatness I would install it with the numbers oriented with the footswitch at the "bottom". either orientation will work for the switch.

have you measured the voltage on your tubes to see what they are for the heater and main voltage? after you check it for the NOS RCA tube that works, see if the voltages change when you switch out the tubes.

Probably enough room there to use 16mm pots. Of course I imagine you could fit 16mm pots in some of the redesigns that use the new perpendicular tube daughter boards.

FWIW, I built a small LPB1 buffer board with a trim pot and placed it inside a 1590BB box using one of these small amps. It works really well with the output from the Sushibox tube builds.

I may be off the mark here. I was thinking you would get enough output to drive the speaker from the reactive load box but that might not be the case. If you've got the equipment already I would give it a try and see. if the output is too low you still might not need the cab sim depending on...

what are you trying to accomplish using the tube amp/load box/cab sim/powered amp setup you describe? ihave you tried just putting the reactive load between the power amp and speaker in the DSL40C? my guess is that the output from the reactive load box will be too high for the cab sim input.

The red diodes are in the feedback loop. I like the sound of this pedal better without the red diodes because there is still ample drive but more high end definition. I tried a few other diodes instead and so far the BAT46 do it for me. Here is the schematic --

nice clean build. I usually think of compression as a tool for other things in a pedal chain instead of a separate effect.

you can also use the inline sockets individually soldered into the three holes. and easy enough if you put each one on your transistor lead to position them on your board when you solder them.
