    Drill template units.

Never really thought ab it, and so long as you measure accurately it doesn’t matter the units, but out of curiosity, are PPCB drill templates measured in imperial or metric units? I tend to use metric since you get fewer trailing decimal points. @Robert ?

This is not my beautiful build report (Chicken Wing Audio content)

Just as a follow-up, this is a fully operational noise maker. After checking all traces from the pot removal fiasco, there was only the one that needed remediation. Oddly enough, all it took was flipping the vibrato switch and it fired right back up. I then remembered that it had done that to me...

    Vibrobot distortion

She does seem to play a lot of Strat for her demos…… it’s not an unpleasant clipping and if you are using od anyways, meh?

    Vibrobot distortion

Tested all the 2n7000 I had, all with more or less the same result. Can dial it out enough to be ok with single coils, but anything else is grit city. It’s not an unpleasant grit, just not what you want on a trem per se

I have but the one 8038

    Vibrobot distortion

Yeah, signal is clean with the depth/mix down so it’s something in that LFO(?) block. I may (shudder) put in a socket to try different mosfets. The 741 was swapped in previous troubleshooting efforts so don’t think it’s that.

    Vibrobot distortion

I have been slowly working my way through the same pink baggie of 2n7000s for awhile now. I don’t want to go too crazy chasing this down. Think I’m going to try a multiturn

    Vibrobot distortion

Good to know. I have tried to dial in the trim and it is a very tiny % of rotation from no trem to quiet muffled trem to louder, clearer, but still noisy trem, back to clean. Maybe I should try using a multi turn trimmer…🤔. Did you still use a 2n7000, or a different one altogether?

    Vibrobot distortion

Ha, yes. I am pretty sparing with the solder on switches, no flooding the pads here for potentially easier removal if needed. Continuity checks out and I have access to all 3 waveforms

All good. you provided me with confirmation that it isn’t supposed to sound like that

    Vibrobot distortion

Calling @DGWVI and @Mentaltossflycoon and anyone else who might have thoughts. Mkay, not the reason I thought I was going to open this thread, but while my vibrobot is trem-ing, it has some distortion/fuzziness on the signal. After chasing rabbits before lifting pin 6 I am 99% sure of parts...

    Vibrobot not Vibro-ing?

Can confirm, lift pin 6 (I got my IC from Robert). Just spent the better part of the afternoon checking values, probing, tracking voltages, checking connectivity, EVEN CLEANED OFF THE 🤬 SOLDER MASK/FLUX which I NEVER do, and was even ab to open my own thread then I did this and all is well.

    Parasit Arcadiator

I installed a home rolled vactrol and jack in my sonic reducer on the mod pads so I could use my Wavelord to drive the LFO. It was great in theory, but certainly lacking in the irl department. Really, the C19 is large physically, but it’s not a terrible build. @DGWVI do those new boards have CV...

    Silicone vs. PVC stranded wire

I use this stuff (might be the same Amazon fare you mentioned) and have no complaints I like that the insulation doesn’t shrink on heating. I think the rebound is more based on it being a non-bonded stranded than the insulation itself. Bonded acts more like a solid core

Just as a comparison, this was my original enclosure Wooden box I made. Stevie’s enclosure has elevated it exponentially

It’s a cool project, all the bleeps and bloops. The tedious part is that LED matrix 256 LEDs…. You have the option to omit it, but why would you?

The one thing I didn’t want to do was mar the front so the one trace I did identify as lifted I put a jumper wire across the back, that way nothing gets in the way of the full glory of the finished project.

Yeeeeaaaah, Stevie’s work deserved the shout out regardless of my unsoldering ineptitude.

Awhile ago I presented a unique project to @steviejr92 it took a lot of planning on his part and time waiting on his new brake and cnc to fully realize the scope, but man did he come through. Some of you may have seen the teaser in the What’s in the Mailbox thread, some of you on IG may have...

SOLVED Deadend FX Mangel Wurzel No chorusing (Ibanez RC99 Rotary Chorus clone)

do you have another circuit that you could test your clock and BBD chips in just to make sure they are good? And since it is always a good practice, have you audio probed through to the BBD to make sure there is signal reaching it?
