    Russian Germaniums

generally if your using a cheap tester you will have some of those show up with large HFE like that 187..... it's likely a really leaky 80-90 hfe

    Paragon Build Report

I’ve put this one together from start to finish this weekend… I’ve built a couple in the past that just didn’t pan out… This one is fine if you stack both sides reasonably.. if you crank both sides it’s squeals and oscillates… tried switching out the charge pumps and three different types of...

    Hatchet Overdrive

Was originally intending this enclosure to be for a Nobleman but after building It ended up being g a dud.. I signal traced to a electrolytic capacitor I trimmed too close to the board and chucked the build in the maybe later bin… Ended up building g out this hatchet and it the first time I...

Bellum Fuzz MK1 light stuck on

desoldering pots is pretty tough for a first timer... you really need a good solder sucker,,, the "engineering" type... I recommend just cutting the pins and pulling one pin at a time and either replacing the pot with new or potentially offboard connect them with individual wires if you really...

    Auditioning Ge Transistors For Noise?

I generally socket my trannies so I can pull them if needed to swap a different set for a ge fuzz build... but you absolutely could build a deciated pedal setup just for checking your trannies to see how they sound.. something simple like a sunflower fuzz where you'll be able to dial in bias and...

    Fuzz Foundry Build

See what happens when I’m home alone all weekend….. A big nasty fuzz… This one doesn’t sound as good as my last two foundries but it’s definitely unique…. Any amount of the stab knob other than full clockwise brings in crazy oscillating .. Not necessarily a bad thing…The fuzz is thick but almost...

Gain and Tone controls do not work in my Kliche mini! Help!!!

electrical tape is not a good idea... the leads can just poke through and short..... hook up power to pcb outside the enclosure.. bend the treble pot off the board and test for signal with all controls

Gain and Tone controls do not work in my Kliche mini! Help!!!

i'm not familiar with those particular jacks... so i'm no help there... I do see some of your soldering isn't wicking to both sides... you could have a cold joint.... unbox it and go ahead and touch up your joints.... and does your led work?

    Chop Shop Overdrive (Second Build)

I prefer one color for wiring because of aesthetics… I wire the entire PCB after populated with all wires a bit longer than needed before putting in enclosure…I trim and solder each wire to the switch… then I trim and wire dc jack… slip in the jacks and trim/wire the grounds at top of pcb… go...
