    Spirit Box Reverb Chip Placement

Here is my build. Sounds great and trust me that R4 to 18K is a MUST DO. There was a super lame drop in volume with the 10K there. I leave the dwell and depth all the way off and I BARELY have the mix knob up.. i just like a tiny smidge of verb. this thing gest wet as hell so I have it only...

which on/on toggle (left side or right side ) when looking at the top of the pedal is which and in which direction does it go? I am taking a guess at the below which is likely very wrong. •Boost/Preamp(Toggle Switch) - Toggles between Boost and Preamp modes •Triangulate/Crush(Toggle Switch) -...

    Spirit Box w/ Mods

thank a bunch man.. i did the R4 from 10K to 18K and insta fix on volume output! i *hate* desoldering stuff but this had to be done. the PPCB build doc and layout should really be updated to make R4 an 18K by default. that volume drop sucked bad. THANKS!!

    Spirit Box Reverb Chip Placement

ok i swapped the R4 from 10K to 18K and that totally fixed the volume issue! cool. i didnt do anything else. i woudl HIGHLY recommedn anyone makng sprit box to change R4 to an 18K. with the stock 10K in there, 5-7% volume drop when pedal was egnagd, no bueno. FIXED NOW THOUGH!

    Spirit Box Reverb Chip Placement

I see the rectanuglar ouline but was not sure if it went on "top" or "bottom" so my amateur ass tried to use pin outs to try and solve the mystery.

    Spirit Box Reverb Chip Placement

No, sir. It would have to go in like this (I assume). Basically backwards and "upside down"... Putting the PIN 1 into the square pad. Here is a pic with chip and bottom/solder side of the PCB. Putting it in the other way, with pin 6 going to the square pad, the chip would run into the pot...

    Spirit Box Reverb Chip Placement

I was hoping to figure out where / how it mounts based on pinout and schematic instead of square peg/round hole. =) So the reverb brick goes on the bottom of the PCB. That would put PIN1 +5V of the reverb brick into the SQUARE pad on PCB which goes to the + side of the C6 10u cap? so totally...

    Spirit Box Reverb Chip Placement

I'm starting Spirit Box now that I have my parts. I got the reverb BTDR-2H LONG from stopmboxparts (love that site). The reverb chip has 6 pins on it going 6 5 4 3 2 1 left to right when looking at the top of it. I looked up the datasheet of it and see the "pinout" is: 1. +5V 2. Power GND 3...

    Another J201 Thread

I ended up cancelling my first china eBay order, did NOT buy the other USA seller J201 and went the SMD and daughter board route... It's way too high a chance of getting fake j201 so I went SMD based on what u cats told me on here...

I think if a pedal needed one that would be OK, but I don't want to deal with 6 adapter boards in ONE pedal. check the m800 build.

Thanks, Fig. I was also checking his feedback and this guy seems to be the real deal so I will grab 10 of the J201's. I thought I only needed one but I actually need 6 and it's all for one build, the M800 Overdrive. I have no idea what the numbers on his tester means but I assume it means...

    Another J201 Thread

I tried to cancel my ebay china order for the J201 but i'm gonna just chalk that up to a loss. The seller is probably fake as are the chips. In double checking my BOM for my 5 pedal mega build I actually need a total of 6 J201. Can anyone tell me if this dude here is selling legit chips? If...

Gauss Drive 1N4448 and also 19k resistor in general

I will have to order the https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/mmbfj201-jfet-pre-soldered/ from here so i can do my build. I did not realize the "history" of the J201. My new rule shall be to source the bom first before ordering the PCB! I have had a very good fortune up until this big 5 PCB...

Gauss Drive 1N4448 and also 19k resistor in general

Thanks for education on the J201.. I see that is a long discontinued dealio and that the only way to do it now is with the SMD. Crap.. wish I knew that before I placed my $50 PCB order here.. thanks for all the help here, guys. never ending process of learning.
