    Half-Assed Fume Extraction

That's what I figured - when the smoke is in front of your face it's the most concentrated, in exactly the place you don't want it. In my basement the room is so big I don't really have to worry about an exhaust, but if I was in a bedroom I'd be a bit more concerned. Maybe a stronger fan +...

    Half-Assed Fume Extraction

I removed the filter on mine today and the fan's draw range was doubled. I'm leaving it off. It looks like yours.

Drill measurements for 3PDT breakout board

When you use these, you also need to place a jumper across the LED pins on the main PCB, as well as the CLR on the main PCB. Or, if you've already installed the CLR on the main board, then place a jumper across the CLR pins on the breakout board. If you get the distance from the switch to the...

6 band EQ potentiometer version C100 value

get this one The 5mm is the diameter. The other dimension doesn't matter for this. But there is enough space around that cap to use a 6mm cap. Just use anything 16v or higher.

    Southern Belle + Seabed Delay

An exp out jack would be nice to incorporate with an expression pedal, but I'm not sure if it would fit the theme of one mashing just one pedal to get an instant lead tone. Maybe there could be a couple toggle switches to attain different "parked wah" freq peaks. Or maybe there could be a...

    Southern Belle + Seabed Delay

That would be pretty cool! In the original Bluebird, there was only one knob for the delay function. I'm not sure what it adjusted, other than the level of delay. Perhaps as the control was turned CW it also increased the number of repeats, or maybe there was a set value for repeats and time...

    Southern Belle + Seabed Delay

I was thinking a tube screamer type circuit as the idea of the pedal is to mash it on for the guitar solo. Or maybe a Hot Cake?

    Southern Belle + Seabed Delay

I was thinking about this too, and I considered heat shrinking or hot glueing them, but they are so stiff and there's about 1/4" clearance between them and the board, and everything else they are attached to is secured in place. The back end of the board is hot glued to the TL072 below it so...

    Southern Belle + Seabed Delay

I put this together for a customer who wanted something like the Mad Professor Bluebird - an overdrive pedal with a delay built in for guitar solo type stuff. I had the Southern Belle already and build the Seabed Delay to accompany it. I managed to get it in a 125b by stacking the boards. The...

This Week on the Breadboard: Shallow Water

This is awesome! I built a Low Tide, but had the same results with the gate control - it was only useful when turned up all the way, and the LPG didn't do much for me either. If this makes its way into a PCB, I'd love to build it!

    Mach 1 / Lightspeed

That's a good idea. I have to change out to an imperial step bit for these so that would save me a step. They fit ok with a 1/4" hole but can get pushed up with a moderate amount of force. I'm using this style but it's a similar application

    Mach 1 / Lightspeed

Looks great! I love those cupcake knobs. How do you secure the LED lens to the enclosure? I picked up some like that a couple weeks ago but they are loose in the enclosure as the clips are meant to work with a thicker metal. I tried spacing them out with nylon washers but they make it difficult...

    Kliche True Bypass Toggle Switch

I thought about it for a while and came up with this. It's not perfect but works with my limitations (3PDT footswitch and DPDT toggle) It leaves the output from the board connected when in true bypass when the effect is off but I believe that should be ok as there is no audio signal going thru...

    💖 Stay Alive ✨ Top Five of '25 💖

The first 3 of my top 5 are easily the Luxury 763, Amber OD, and Dielectric Boost. I love each of these so much for what they do for my guitar tone. They play nice with each other as well! I don't use 4 and 5 as much but they were both fun and challenging builds and sound great! They are...

Damaged pad. Help finding another ground connection

Yeah, if you can get the leg thru the damaged pad and bend it over to the R2 then that's fine. Or use a trimmed off leg to connect the two. Stranded wire can get messy. MG Superwick 425 is the best desoldering wick, makes it real easy to remove things

Damaged pad. Help finding another ground connection

There's a ground pad right next to it, the upper pad of R2. See how there are crosshairs around those two solder pads? That means those solder pads connect to ground. Fixing it is easy - pull C6 carefully so you don't damage its other pad, then put in a new component and leave the ground leg a...
