Mounting a PCB with wired pots

I do have some of those zip tie mounts from making a sub kick mic and was thinking about them. When you glue those down, so you leave the foam tape on and juice it up, or remove it then glue?

Mounting a PCB with wired pots

I may have meant to buy some of these a long time ago. Might gave to think about the clear sticky stuff, because me and foam tape can just never seem to get on the page.

Mounting a PCB with wired pots

These do look great. I found a place where you could request a quote on 1000.

jb weld? much better than regular epoxy?

I've patched a couple boxes with regular JB Weld before. I covered the holes on the inside and then filled the holes. After it set up a few days I took the palm sander to the top of the box and flushed things up. There were some pinholes from bubbles I assume that showed up after sanding, so...

Mounting a PCB with wired pots

@BuddytheReow, a lot of wires, but none particularly taught. It is a heavily modded Klon spoof, so jacks will be mounted on the top and the footswitch will be off to the left hand side of the board. Thanks for weighing in, I appreciate your thoughts.

Mounting a PCB with wired pots

There are 5 pots, but I have already wired them with stranded.

Mounting a PCB with wired pots

Hi all! I have a build nearing completion that will be raffled off at my friend's local music fest that he puts on. For the first time in quite a while I am using a board without PCB mount pots, and am wondering on how you all go about mounting a PCB in a box when it is not held on by any of...

End All Red OD Randall RG "Mime From Hell" with mods!!!

I think it could. I haven't tested it extensively, but it will take a boost pedal in front of it well. On its own it is a mid gain, hot Marshall sort of sound. You would need some boost and EQ like Dime used to get his sound, but I think it would be doable. A fun project would be to do a...

End All Red OD Randall RG "Mime From Hell" with mods!!!

It sounds good, definitely usable as an extra distortion flavor, or as a full on preamp/main distortion sound. You can use it as is, or it will take a boost in front if you want. it does well either way. I ended up taking out one of the additional internal boost circuits after playing with it...

New Bench Amp for Pedal Testing

Thanks! I recently put in a few hours tuning up my table saw so I was able to get some nice crisp cuts. The head you're seeing inside the box is my logo, a little caricature of myself.

New Bench Amp for Pedal Testing

I wrapped up another project the other day!!! I made a small amp from a TPA3116 board from Amazon to mainly aid in testing pedals quickly before boxing them up. I wanted it to be quick set up and tear down, as well as a small footprint since I don't really have any room to have any gear out...

    Epoxy pour finish

@SillyOctpuss Thanks very much for the link and tips! This all makes perfect sense. No need to worry about the humidity in my house right now, having the heat on all the time keeps it bone dry unfortunately. Thanks to everyone else for their advice and opinions. I was figuring drill first...

    Epoxy pour finish

Hey all, quick question for anyone who has finished an enclosure with epoxy. I'm planning to do a sticker collage on the pedal and then coat over the top with epoxy. I'm trying to decide if I should drill out the enclosure before or after I pour the epoxy top coat. Anyone with previous...

Anyone need any high voltage caps???

Howdy all! Back when Small Bear was clearing their clutter before the sale I made my last order from them and they sent a grab bag of caps along with my stuff. They look nice and all, but they are big honkin' high voltage guys that I will never use and they are just in my way. Any one need...

    Mids Control for SOFTii?

@Feral Feline Finally have an update for you on this, had a few projects for friends cut in front of this build for myself. I added the mid control using the 100k pot at C12. I was able to fit all the components including C12 on a 6x6 piece of vero and I was off to the races! I plan to use...

    Mids Control for SOFTii?

Thanks so much for this, this is an amazing jumping off point! It's like a buffet of possibilities!! I'm thinking I'll go with the Q5/Q6 idea first and see how that works. Maybe I'll rig some switching so I can test the circuit with and without the added mid control to see if that is gonna get...

    Mids Control for SOFTii?

Would I be able to plop a gyrator in around R23 and be good to go?

    Mids Control for SOFTii?

Hi all. Just wanted to throw some feelers out there, anyone have any ideas on an easy way to add an active mids control to the SOFTii? I've looked at a few options, but I want to keep things as simple as possible. Any and all feedback is appreciated!!!

Knob alignment device (Fun with arts and crafts!!!)

I really like the Pepers' Pedals Better Setter and plan on buying one in the future. I think it is a great concept for a tool to solve the issue of knob alignment. I really just can't justify the cost of the shipping at this time though, so being a DIYer I have been thinking about how to make...

    Multiple modulation modules, oh my!

Thanks a bunch! I do think the chorus pedal is one of the best designs I've done, hit it right on the money between simple, but still visually interesting. I'm not sure how practical the phaser would be too play in a real setting, but it sure is one of those cool "Lookie here!!!" kinda things...
