    Nobleman bass mod

You were correct. I swapped to a 500k, and the pedal oscillates at the highest settings... like a modulation effect at a rapid rate

In some cases, yes, for sure. Some builds don't suit me, and it's fairly quick to determine... but some sound really good... just shy of what I'm wanting it to do... or just wanting a bit more than it offers. Sometimes a recipe is good, just needs an extra dash of seasoning to make it just...

    Nobleman bass mod

I will sorta add to my initial comment on the gain (or anything really). I guess I sorta get "Bluesbreaker syndrome", where some pedals feel like they have to absolutely be cranked, with drive, tone, volume, etc... To me, it leaves me feeling like 9/10th's of the control becomes effectively...

    Nobleman bass mod

So, I know my way around, but still sort of a noon when it comes to being familiar enough with a circuit to understand what affects another... When it comes to, say, changing pot values on an already-built pedal, I've often wondered if it were possible to just solder *or alligator clip* a...

    Nobleman bass mod

I'd like to do this myself and maybe add a bit more gain... Thought about just upping the size if the drive pot, or perhaps adding a higher gain boost on a toggle... The pedal is great, but I like for the controls to be closer to center as far as "less/more"... I try not to build insane gain...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

I'll keep that in mine on the next one I build... I already sent this one to it's new home... went ahead and soldered the diodes into the sockets before I did. I'm waiting for feedback (A buddy of mine requested I build it as an alternative to his OCD...

and to be clear (can't remember if I mentioned it before in this thread), I tested several Germanium flavors. I installed sockets for the diodes so I could swap them in and out easily. I felt the GEs were too "papery" sounding and had a funky midrange thing going on... To my ear, the 4148's...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

Yes, that's the only significant changes... I made. I tested all my caps to make sure they were as close to spec as possible... My version definitely had a cleaner feel to it... didn't have that muffled thing going on the v 1.7 OCD did... I also felt the OCD was very quick to have an...

    ADHD v2 (Fulltone OCD Ge)

Got the new build finished. I went back and swapped the gain pot with a A1M, and its much improved... behaves more like the OCD my buddy loaned me for testing comparison... Thank you so much!

SOLVED ADHD doesn't sound like an OCD (weaker gain less body/fatness)

Ended up with a bad trace or something in the last build. No audio probe signal pre- C7 (working from output of circuit backwards...). Tested all components, reflowed the joints multiple times, NOTHING. Scrapped it and populated another board Michael so graciously sent me (what a stand-up...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

I'm not sure... my understanding from what I could find on other communities is the big changes to each one were more oriented in the diode section... I just took a hail Mary and swapped the gain pot to a 1m, and it's WAY closer... The gain with the 500k was just too weak, unless CRANKED to...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

Same here... I went ahead and built one... but it sounds different than the OCD I have right beside it. I followed the values on the board, but the OCD has a 1M gain pot, compared to the 500k on the pcb

Bluesbreaker circuit... Anyone care to check my work?

side note, good idea on taming the brightness... on the Musikding pedal, I have to run the tone about 9.5-10 o'clock. it'd be nice to have an equal amount of sweep each way

Bluesbreaker circuit... Anyone care to check my work?

lol, I certainly appreciate it, but there has been a bit of a misunderstanding. I posted two photos of schematics above. I'm just wanting to use a PedalPCB BB board (photo 1) to make the exact same pedal in the Musikding "Der Breaker) schematic (photo 2). I've already built the Musikding...

Bluesbreaker circuit... Anyone care to check my work?

Yeah, I built one... didn't like it... just too much harsh treble... like a Klon has. I tried adjusting some values and it improved a bit, but I just don't dig it. It doesn't have the same glassy punch, clarity and nice round bass response that the Musikding does... idk what's with their choice...

Bluesbreaker circuit... Anyone care to check my work?

Oh, I certainly know the Musikding circuit sounds good... But I have it in a big, ugly 1590bb enclosure and it's kind of a cheap kit... I want to build one nice and tidy using the Pedalpcb board but installing all values from the musikding version (they are different). I just wanted to be sure

    Boteh Overdrive build

And he's a tech guy too... He does great interviews about Dr Z amps and gear and mentions cathode bias, pickup magnets, speakers and ohm ratings... guy has some knowledge
