and to be clear (can't remember if I mentioned it before in this thread), I tested several Germanium flavors. I installed sockets for the diodes so I could swap them in and out easily. I felt the GEs were too "papery" sounding and had a funky midrange thing going on... To my ear, the 4148's...

Got the new build finished. I went back and swapped the gain pot with a A1M, and its much improved... behaves more like the OCD my buddy loaned me for testing comparison... Thank you so much!

Same here... I went ahead and built one... but it sounds different than the OCD I have right beside it. I followed the values on the board, but the OCD has a 1M gain pot, compared to the 500k on the pcb

side note, good idea on taming the brightness... on the Musikding pedal, I have to run the tone about 9.5-10 o'clock. it'd be nice to have an equal amount of sweep each way

Yeah, I built one... didn't like it... just too much harsh treble... like a Klon has. I tried adjusting some values and it improved a bit, but I just don't dig it. It doesn't have the same glassy punch, clarity and nice round bass response that the Musikding does... idk what's with their choice...

Oh, I certainly know the Musikding circuit sounds good... But I have it in a big, ugly 1590bb enclosure and it's kind of a cheap kit... I want to build one nice and tidy using the Pedalpcb board but installing all values from the musikding version (they are different). I just wanted to be sure
