I took a shot at point to point

I’m not sure I’m qualified to give advices.. but here’s my lessons learned: 1- Don’t forget you’ll have to box it, soldering the power jack was, at first a good idea giving it some support, until I realized I used an “outty” one ! 2- Make your plan 3, 4 and even 5 components ahead. 3- If you...

I took a shot at point to point

I had never tried that, seen a few here and there and yesterday I figured ”Why Not ?” I perused the different build docs and elected to try a Sandspur Fuzz. Seems probably the simplest, 20 components and I pretty much had every parts. I had to make a few substitutions, didn’t have BC108 so I...

SOLVED Can some one please tell me what is going on?

I would say one way to check is measure the voltage at R4, anything above 4.7V would prove that the zener is reverse and not doing it's voltage regulation job...

Help with 1590BBM fit two PCBs

I guess the size of the board matters... (that's what she says)... You got a gut shot of that build ?

    Headphone amplifier

That's a good looking box !!! I plan to build a few of these, but I want to include an aux input and I'm even considered a Bluetooth board I found, the MH-MX8. Goal is that I would be able to play a back track over bluetooth or a physical 1/8in input aux. About your volume glitch, If what is...

    Headphone Amplifier?

For the auxiliary input, I think you could control the blend by using the volume of your device. Once you have parity, the volume knob of the pedal would increase both equally if you connect the auxiliary to the input of the amp. If you connect the aux to output, then blending would have to be...

    Headphone Amplifier?

Interesting, so you do not think the sound need to be amplified and joined to the volume control ? Any specific reason ? I'm also thinking of a MH-M18 Bluetooth module, just not sure if the PCB located in a aluminum enclosure would require an external antenna...

    Headphone Amplifier?

@Robert and others, a couple of questions on this project: 1- Would it work for a bass ? 2- Would there be a few mod to run a bass ? 3- What if I was to connect a second jack for an auxiliary input straight to in/gnd , a way to plug you phone and play a backtrack ? Thanks….

Just bought this 8 inch drill press

If you're drilling steel and not aluminum, I would say make sure you are using lubricant. I'm less experience with drilling steel, but the same principles would apply and heat is either bad for you bit or your drilled piece. In the case of steel I would tend to think that it's bad for your...

Hello, I am the Raincoat! (BuggFX RainCoat)

Put a TS in front and the raincoat gets you to knew territory... I build a combo with it.... Nice work !

Just bought this 8 inch drill press

Glad to be of any help... there's a few more tricks that may also sound obvious that I didn't list, but they are as useful. - Make sure you have a well lit working surface, shadow will play trick on you and will make it hard to align the the enclosure. - Align the enclosure while the drill is...

Just bought this 8 inch drill press

The secret for any successful drilling is always the same.... - Use sharp bits of the appropriate type, wood bits vs metal bits isn't the same. - Use the right speed, for aluminum 200 to 300 rpm is recommended, if you drill with higher speed you risk inducing heat which will melt the aluminum...

    Muffler no gate

I still think the 4.5 on Vref b is too low, but I’m sure 0.1 on the other side of R11 is not normal. Try to reflow R11 and test again.

    Muffler no gate

Hey I see you got no help on this... I'm no expert, but looking at your voltage, I think you VREF_B voltage is wrong. From what I can understand on the schematic, VREF_A is a voltage divider so it should be at 4.5V which you have, but VREF_B with a 5V1 Zener diode should be at 5.1V... I...

Which PCB to Buy for True Bypass in a Dual Effect Unit+Signal Chain Flipper?

I've built 2 combos like this exact setup and never had degradation, I even used an 4PDT instead of a 3PDT for the order switch and leverage the 4th row of lugs to control a dual color led that match the pedal that is in front...

    The MuZZul

Finally got to finish it. A Muzzle, no twist, no mod, except maybe for the external range switch. It works well, but I still got to figure out how to best set it up with a delay in the FX loop. Probably the build that requires the most planning when it come to fitting all this in a box. I...
