Glad you got it working, and congratulations on the young one!

    5u Capacitors...

If it were me I'd use 4.7uF and call it a day.

    Purple Channel (Tyrian)

Thanks! Was curious to see how it compared to the original, pretty sure I'll be building one ;)

    Question about Sanguine LED

It depends how you've wired it. If it's wired as per the build docs the pedal should function normally when powered.

How does it sound? I'm really tempted to build one of these.

Also, if you're testing with the battery rather than a 9v wall wart, plug a lead into the input. Without this your battery power will not ground, and without a closed circuit you won't be getting any power.

It could just be dirty, but looks like there may be damage to some of your traces. That style of DC jack uses a mechanical switch to change power supplies and may be damaged or faulty. This is always going to be a possibility with moving parts. You can use a DMM to verify you're actually...

    Spatialist

Looks great! I hand soldered my first SMD IC's over the weekend (normally get them pre-soldered). It was actually a really fun and rewarding challenge over the standard through hole stuff. Still need to build myself one of these, the pitch down reverb seems like it would be a lot of fun.

So purple! I love it. Did you use a UV LED too?

Second attempt is much better but I think I was a bit impatient getting the backing off. Could probably have left it on the iron for longer too. I still feel like this is great progress, third time's a charm!

    Duocast

Super tidy build! I love that Gorva enclosure too.

Nice work! The finish on that enclosure looks fantastic, where did you get it from?

Crazy good deal on art and design apps

I've been using Gimp and Inkscape for a little while now, I've got more experience with Photoshop/Illustrator but couldn't justify the ongoing cost. My main beef with Inkscape is the UI. It's quite clunky and not very intuitive. I feel like every time I use it I have to google instructions...

That's a great point. It's sounding like I need to do more prep to get the toner to adhere better. I'll grab some 180 and 400 and see how I go!

    Calling all Etching Experts

Thanks guys, this is really helpful. I ready Hexjibber's tutorial before starting this and thought I had a good idea of what to do, but looks like I need more practice! In terms of prep, I sanded with 600 grit wet and dry for maybe 7 or 8 minutes, changing paper when it got clogged. I wanted to...

    Calling all Etching Experts

So I decided to have a go at etching with sodium hydroxide, but can't for the life of me get the toner to transfer onto my enclosure. I'm laser printing on to high gloss 180gsm photo paper. My first attempt was a failure, but seemed promising. The second attempt was woeful. Has anyone...

    Low Output from Sea Horse

Sounds like you may have an incorrect resistor somewhere, it's hard to tell with them standing up. Go through your resistors to confirm these are all correct (eg accidentally using 470k for 470r), and if they all appear ok your next step is an audio probe to isolate where the volume drops off.

    Waterslide decal insight wanted

I've found that there's always a few bubbles under my decals, no matter how hard I try to apply them carefully and squeeze them out. However, after a few clear coats the bubbles are basically invisible, so I've stopped fretting over them so much. Just make sure you've cleaned the surface and...
