Test Box Schematic - Am I understanding it correctly?

Oh, and I built one of these. It can easily fit in a 1590b.

Test Box Schematic - Am I understanding it correctly?

Makes sense to me. Your coupling cap for the audio probe doesn't need to be that big (1uf OR 630V). For guitar, a "standard" 100nf box cap will work just fine. If you've got the space you can use a 1uf box cap.

    Buffer+pad design is this correct?

There's probably a solder bridge somewhere. Can we see the back of the vero? It would be a good idea to run your iron down the tracks to clean them up.

    Pro-10

They're not all zingers. There are too many circuits out there that simply underwhelmed me. Your building skills are still top notch, though. Nice and clean!

    Pop Quiz (wiring question)

That board appears to not really have a breakout section other than IN and OUT. You’ll have to get a little creative to add a PPCB breakout board, meaning you’ll have to jumper a 9V and GND connection somewhere to it. Also you’ll need to add a LED and CLR

    Pop Quiz (wiring question)

PPCB “standard” is IN, GND, SW (9V), OUT in that order. You’ll need to cross a few wires on your board to match

    Chauffeur OD/Daily Driver Zener selection

It will "work" in the sense that it will be a functional pedal/circuit. A comparison would be the difference between 4148's and LEDs for the clippers. They will both "work" but will sound different. You could always socket the components and switch em out when you're ready down the road.

Thanks. With my DMM it’s a C1M with an odd taper

No not yet. I've only had 10 min go go through everything on my kitchen table. When I have a moment I'll put it through the DMM

    Do you have a one-knob TL071 boost?

Good news is you can breadboard something using a simple inverting opamp configuration. I will refer you to the first half of the Mini Muffin schematic plus the power supply section. The pinout for the opamp below is for a dual, not a single such as the TL071. Replace R4 with a output coupling...
