    Repair - Ibanez bi-mode chorus bc-9

It works intermittently with a power supply. I think the power supply ground is tied to this screw. If I pull the circuit board out of the enclosure I get no sound when running off power supply

    Repair - Ibanez bi-mode chorus bc-9

Howdy y’all. I had been meaning to fix this one up for some time, but could never remember what was wrong with it. I just opened it up to find that the circuit board was broken where the screw grounds the board to the case. What’s the best way to go about fixing this? My gut is telling me...

SOLVED First build excitement, and then reality hits.

Can I ask where you got those jacks?

    Son of Ben - Preamp

Assuming my electrolytics are rated high enough, if I ran this at 18v, I’d probably just need to tweak the trimmers by ear, right? Or would I essentially just want to see 8 volts on the the drains of Q2-3?

SOLVED Aion Gale No Bypass Signal

I believe that’s correct. I think the ground wire on the switch is in the wrong place. It should run from the power input to a ground spot on the board. Otherwise it’s not doing anything.

SOLVED Aion Gale No Bypass Signal

The soldering on your jacks, the ground specifically doesn’t look great. You want to make sure you have a sound mechanical connection before you solder

SOLVED Aion Gale No Bypass Signal

Here: Should say V+ But you’ll have no power supply filtering, as that’s all done on the switch pcb

Replacement for 560 ohm resistor in Parentheses Mini

You’ll find some values you use all the time. Definitely order 100 of those, as you’ll get a price break.

    Percolation Station Help!

What’s the board mounted to? It looks like it’s shorting to the back of the pots/enclosure

Thank you! I guess I was confused by the 2k notation. I’m setting the trim pot to 2k? I’m not sure why it’s a trim pot if a 2k resistor would get the job done. Is it just one of those things with JFETS where you need that adjustablity to account for how jfets can vary so wildly?

I’m thinking of trying some Lumberg jacks for my next build. Those parts weren’t around when I was actively building last. I got some stereo enclosed jacks from Tayda, but they look to be the same manufacturer as the mono ones I got from cusack. I like the enclosed jacks I get from small...

    Son of Ben - Preamp

I just finished building this one. It sounds great! A little more gain than I was hoping for. I had to mix and match pot types with what I had on hand, which messed with how I had to solder them all in so they were set at the same height. I also tried some different enclosed jacks which I...

Zeppelin Design Labs - volume pedal mod - Experience?

Does anyone have experience with this mod kit? Or any alternatives? https://zeppelindesignlabs.com/product/vpm-1-volume-pedal-mod/

    Enclosures from Tayda?

I ordered a couple of “ball silver” 125b’s from Tayda. One was fine, the other had finger prints seemingly under the powder coat that show through. I don’t care as it’s just for me. I used to powder coat my own, and I’d much rather pay them $1 to do it for me

    Always on boost/low drive pedal

Should work well. It’s got a three band eq to sculpt your tone

Dual Pedal - Cataclysm & Spirit Box

You can get a 3pdt toggle, and then you can still use the order switcher pcb. Just make sure you solder it on the right way around

    Always on boost/low drive pedal

I really like the mostortion for this. I use it as a preamp essentially. I leave the volume very low, and have the gain up just Higher than I’d like for cleans, so I can roll my volume back just a little to give me my clean sound. Then I can roll the volume up the rest of the way to get a boost.

    Component Selection for "sound quality"??

In my experimentation part tolerance had a much bigger impact on the sound. So much so, that sometimes I’d change values based on what the parts tested at.

PedalPCB Terrarium - Compact Daisy Development Platform

Sorry, I should have put menu in quotations. The “menu” function being that you push the button, and the led color changes to let you know what set of parameters you’re changing in this specific setup for the software I found a video demo for:
