    Parasit Studios Sonic Reducer

Sounds like I'll need to try it out with the Brassmaster. I can see that making some noise.

I didn't try it on my bass, but I'll have to give it a shot. At least then I might have a chance of getting some kind of useful sound from it. I was underwhelmed wit it on guitar, but I'm not a very good guitar player and it's the first time I had ever used one. It came alive with the synth, though.

    Parasit Studios Sonic Reducer

Thanks, man. I appreciate that. I've been watching amp building videos and have picked up a few tips from them. I twisted the LED wire and thought "I can do better than that, I remember that dude in the video using a drill..." and the others came out perfectly.

    Parasit Studios Sonic Reducer

I hadn't planned on making a build report on this but I'm sitting here today with some extra time and I figured why not? A friend of mine asked if I could make him a bitcrusher and I figured that would give me an excuse to buy a few things I've wanted from Parasit Studios since there were a few...

what temp should my soldering iron be to not melt the board

It shouldn't take more than three or four seconds to complete a joint. If it's taking longer than that, give that hole a break for a minute and come back to it. A colder iron means more time in contact with the board and components, so running hotter tends to make work cleaner and quicker once...

    Printer advice

I used a Brother B&W for a couple of years and it got the job done. It was about $200 when I bought it, I think. I bought an HP color laserjet pro m255dw a couple of months ago (Same printer as @Harry Klippton) and it was a massive improvement. Massive. Like, I want to redo the enclosures for...

You're going to want them on the other side of the board.

PPCB HM-2 build. Built this to kick a Metal Zone off a friend's board.

I've got an old friend who is a huge metal head. He'd never heard of the HM-2 so I offered to build him one. He's a big fan of the Metal Zone and I figured that this could easily kick that off his board. He didn't want it at first, but after sending him some demos he messaged me a couple of days...

    UPS v. DHL (Tayda Shipping)...

My PPCB orders have been taking longer than usual with USPS. They ship fast but float around Florida for a couple days usually.

    UPS v. DHL (Tayda Shipping)...

Here in California at least DHL has always been less expensive for me. I have a cart right now with Tayda (about $100 worth) and UPS is $5 more expensive. DHL has always been on time for me while my experience with UPS is that they tend to be a couple of days late.

How do you install your footswitches ? What to do with the various rings ?

I made these at home on my lathe. I had a few little stubby bits of brass leftover from making knobs and decided to bore them out and cut them off to match the dimensions of the fabled white plastic washer. I was just thinking of ways to reuse some of the scrap I was making. So it was a joke...

How do you install your footswitches ? What to do with the various rings ?

In reality everyone needs to use custom, hand-made, brass, knurled washers or else their footswitch will explode. I happen to have some available for $75 a piece. A small price to pay to keep your house safe from an untimely explosion.
