pedal needs time to power- abandoned not solved

I have foam pads for the bottom of the pots. And yes, the light comes on instantly.

pedal needs time to power- abandoned not solved

I’m not sure. It’s like when you turn it on it sounds like it’s far away sputtering. Then if I shake it up, it works at full power. Yesterday I noticed when I plugged it in it would take a few seconds in order for the volume to come up to full power.

    Tommy III mini slide

I am working on a Tommy three. I’m wondering about this SPDT mini slide. Do I put it on the other side of this circuit board? And should it be accessible through the top of the pedal or do you have to open the pedal in order to engage the switch. I appreciate any help you could give me. I...

pedal needs time to power- abandoned not solved

Can anyone give me guidance on this? Maybe it is ok. Just new to me. On another note I love Tayda - how do they get a package from Asia to my house faster than my PedalPCB deliveries? Wild!

pedal needs time to power- abandoned not solved

Hello. I am new at pedal building. I just completed a second Article 59, At first the pedal sounded like it was muffled and scratchy unless I hit it or shook it so I redid all wiring. Still the same so reheated solder joints. Finally it works. A new issue has emerged (or is it?) where the pedal...

    Introduce myself and Article 59

Ok I built a second Fudge Round Fuzz and it works. I am not a fuzz fan but I will evaluate it. Not too mny parts involved. Sound is just ok. Maybe slighty underpowered and rather more like a straight distortion pedal. I always order two PCBs for each pedal because I am usually screwing up the first.

    Introduce myself and Article 59

Here is the fudge round fuzz that did not work. It trailed off when you would hit a cord like there was cold solder somewhere - like a blat sound. So I refloated all the solder. I then changed the electrolytic 100 you. I changed all three pots. This is a picture of the front and back of the...

    Introduce myself and Article 59

You are probably right. I just built a Fudge Round Fuzz and it was crackling and fading when engaged. I was frustrated after changing every pot, and cap and reflowing all solder. Barely any parts involved and I tested the values on every single resistor twice. So maddening. I gave up on that one...

    Magnetron Delay: "Magnificent Frigatebird Delay"

I just completed one of these. Great pedal. At first I had all this clicking and warbling bleeding through, then I turned the trim pot almost all the way clockwise and it stopped the unwanted noise. I also dig that blinking led.

Thanks! I appreciate it. I am very uneducated in electronics but I understand your diode idea, I will try this along with the 100n. Also d1 and d2 have the negative on the same sde I believe because of the led inside the footbrint

SOLVED Aphrodite Overdrive... Anyone built yet?

This pedal is loud! The volume pot cannot be turned up or it will be ridiculously loud. I put it at 1/4. I decided to take the pedal apart to make sure I used an100k for volume: I does sound terrific, like a Plexi, like a Klon, a TS808 a fuzz, sustain and a distortion depending on settings. The...

    Labels and graphics

I think this pedal the woodpecker trim below, is the same as the StewMac Tremelo. But it’s cool. It turned out really nice. I’m not sure what color knobs to put on it. (Oops-redacted some profanity. Unsure what happened there)

    Labels and graphics

I use my thermal ink printer to create these. The printer s for shipping labels but I purchased clear media. Wondering if anyone has thoughts about using these? Thanks.

Basic Workflow Tips for Building a PedalPCB

So I ordered some flux pens. It really kind of screwed up my process here and it seemed like it did the opposite of what I wanted. Maybe there’s enough flux already in my solder that this didn’t work for me.

Thanks for the reply. I still screw up quite a bit, unforced errors. Troubleshooting is not my strong suit yet. I’m gonna get myself some of those BAT41 diodes maybe you could tell me where I could find a socket?
