    Can anyone find J201

I used to pay the premium for the though hole J201’s but I heard the SMD ones are tighter tolerance so I tried them out on my last build (like the ones above, pre-soldered to a little board). I just added solid core wire to the holes so I could mount it on the main pcb as normal. for some...

    Not quite a Parentheses [brackets?]

I’m not sure, I saw it mentioned in a wishlist thread, but there are a few model T pedals out there, some jfet copies of the model T preamp, and some that appear to be something different. I guess we’ll see!

    Jfet Orange MkII preamp pedal

One of these days I’ll learn how to silkscreen some labels. They will still probably be very utilitarian though as I like the look.

    Not quite a Parentheses [brackets?]

Sorry for the non-pedalpcb content. I am waiting to see what the mofetta is before I place an order (in the U.K. and shipping/customs adds up!) This is an EQD Life clone like the pedalpcb mini parentheses, but from that Czech website pcbguitarmania. It works and sounds great but is not without...

    Jfet Orange MkII preamp pedal

this one appears to be just a copy of the original schematic but with the tubes replaced by j201’s, the bajaman one looks like it’s more of an ‘inspired by’ design. Never tried any of his pedal designs so it may well sound more authentic than replacing tubes with j201’s. I got annoyed with the...

    Jfet Orange MkII preamp pedal

It works good, I’m not sure if it is any more reliable than just wires going to the switch. It may have been slightly quicker to wire up though. I think speed in assembly may be its only benefit?

    Jfet Orange MkII preamp pedal

Ah cool it works! I will pop mine open and add that washer later on. suddenly the 12 position switch makes sense.

    Jfet Orange MkII preamp pedal

Yep that looks like it. I bought two in case one was broken. It’s larger than the ‘mini’ rotary that the dwarven hammer uses.

    Jfet Orange MkII preamp pedal

Hope you don’t mind non-pedalpcb projects! Pedalpcb boards are my favorite since the documentation is great, easy to work with, great selection, and very few if any errors on the boards and docs. But living in the U.K., shipping and customs fees are high so I only sporadically order boards. I...

    ‘W’ for ‘Weird’

    Dingo W20KC Pot

I believe this refers to ‘Center detent’ as I think the original pedal has a center detent on those knobs. Not required, just nice to have. if you can’t find W taper, I think linear would probably work for those controls (hard and soft).

SOLVED Parentheses Fuzz pcb327 question about the octave function

I don’t have the parenthesis or life pedal, but I do often use a little tagboard green ringer octave pedal I made (same as the octave effect in the parenthesis) into a Rat, and I do usually get a compression of the attack of the note when I really dig in on single notes. I kinda like it.

Horrible Squealing From TC Integrated Preamp

Yep, tl072 is a dual op amp, you need a single op amp, TL071 or lm741 work well. different pin outs is the main issue You’re currently attaching +24v from the charge pump to the output of the second op amp stage, and taking the output from its inverting input. it would be possible to...

    Promethium Distortion Mods?

Reducing the input caps should reduce the bass going into the pedal. Might be easier to first put an eq in front to see if reducing bass at the input will do what you want though. I was playing around with mine the other day (I don’t use it that much) and decided to compare it to my behringer...

Hyped fuzz mod for in between setting like Behringer SF300

Never mind answered my own question, I was about to box it up but decided to add a resistor in series with the switch. Tried 1k8 first, but that made the extra switch basically do nothing. Tried 320R and that gives a cool 60/40 blend of whatever fuzz setting I’m on. when I eventually build the...

Hyped fuzz mod for in between setting like Behringer SF300

Sorry to bump an old thread but... I recently bought the behringer superfuzz on a whim given the price, and it’s real cool, never thought I’d be interested in fuzzes. After reading this thread I tried wedging the switch between the two positions, kinda tricky to do but it’s a cool option. Since...

    Looking for something Bruuuutal

I love preamp pedals. I think the favorite I’ve built was the BE-OD clone, Thermionic distortion I think it’s called here. I guess it’s more of a distortion pedal but I think it works well into a power amp, as long as you’ve got an effective presence knob. Otherwise, just sticking a graphic EQ...

Anyone tried adding clipping diodes to a Wonder Drive?

This thread piqued my interest so yesterday I dug out the wonder drive I made maybe last year. I did a few mods to it based on another thread where where pedalpcb had another version of the pedal and was detailing the differences. I changed a few things but I forget what now. I haven’t used it...

HM2 / Promethium distortion mod - bypass distortion?

not to much to it really, if you want to do this same mod,I would just follow the schematic changes in post #7, but do it after C1 rather than before. Or if you do it before C1 like in the picture, just add a 47nf off the switch (Where it’s marked orange). mine is technically a ‘bodge’ since I...
