SOLVED Aion Xenotron : Manual control issue

Thank you so much ! A small sheet of paper greatly improves the Manual range, you are right ! I could have done more damage to the circuit by looking for the issue, so i'm very grateful to you ! I also could have wasted lots of hours before finding this led problem. I am so relieved.... this...

SOLVED Aion Xenotron : Manual control issue

Hello, this is my second troubleshooting post on this circuit : i thought it was ok, but it's not compared to other builds. https://aionfx.com/app/files/docs/xenotron_documentation.pdf The obvious issue is that on my build it is much harder to dial some good modulation settings, compared to...

Aion FX Xenotron (Lovetone ? Flanger) Build: Weird behavior of ring lift, stereo/mono, and bypass switches.

i think i wasn't clear, sry. The Input Gain control does its job, no issue there. I have distortion appearing during the Manual pot's rotation (1rst half). I noticed it when using only the Time output. On the Mono output, it's there too, but less noticeable because of the wet/clean ratio. I...

Aion FX Xenotron (Lovetone ? Flanger) Build: Weird behavior of ring lift, stereo/mono, and bypass switches.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to record these samples ! I think my build is able to produce some similar sounds. It's probably quite close to total completion. Now that puntygrapes mentioned it, i guess i can hear something like a delay being modified when i turn the Manual pot within the...

Aion FX Xenotron (Lovetone ? Flanger) Build: Weird behavior of ring lift, stereo/mono, and bypass switches.

Is there a point in the Manual rotation where your modulation fades away ? Or is it supposed to work through the whole rotation ?

Aion FX Xenotron (Lovetone ? Flanger) Build: Weird behavior of ring lift, stereo/mono, and bypass switches.

Thanks for the demo ! You have modulation with Manual at noon, which tells me something is really wrong on my build.... Your circuit sounds much better than mine. Congratulations for this difficult build !

Median Compressor PCB - Available Now!

"Median compressor" ? I really thought PPCB was releasing a clone of Guyatone PS-21 like Aion's Meridian compressor !

Aion FX Xenotron (Lovetone ? Flanger) Build: Weird behavior of ring lift, stereo/mono, and bypass switches.

Using only the Space/Mono main output, i don't notice any change with stereo/mono switch. No volume drop with the Ring switch, but when set upward, the Time modulation is cut off the mix, i only have the clean signal, and the space/tremolo modulation working. However, using only the Time output...

Aion Meridian guitar to bass switch

Understood, thanks ! Longue vie à Feral Feline ! Edit : just did this mod. I first used a 470k resistor across the outter lugs of the B1M Sustain control, and 27k at R8. I had a little statics and scratching noises at the end of the pot's rotation. I added another 27k to the 470k and now it's...

Aion Meridian guitar to bass switch

I count 7 values that change between both version. https://aionfx.com/app/files/docs/meridian_documentation.pdf I would look for a big 8PDT toggle, or 2 x 4PDT to add these parts to the circuits. This way way you will have the two versions in a single box. If you are looking to modify a...

Aion Meridian guitar to bass switch

The bass specs are the best for both guitar and bass, in my humble opinion. To put it simply, it felt like the guitar version is only cutting off much warmth, much low frequencies in this circuit. In my experience, the difference between the two version sounds similar to turning up the Color...

Quick question about soldering residue cleaner

makes sense, thanks. I never used flux on its own before. The friends who taught me how to build stompboxes told me it was toxic and usually not needed. I guess it is needed if i am going to use some residue cleaner.

Quick question about soldering residue cleaner

right, so it's wrong to use it too often ? it should only come into play at the end of the building process ? I thought flux was burnt while soldering, i didn't know it's still there once the soldering is done. And if there are still flux on the soldering pad, i 'd guess there is still some of...

Quick question about soldering residue cleaner

Hello, I've been using some residue cleaner recently, and i notice that pads are much harder to reflow after cleaning the pcb. When applying heat to reflow and improve some soldering joint, i can see bubbles and strange things going on on the pad, it feels like i should remove the cleaned...

Ayaaah ! Gloire ! Finally, a professional expertise from a famous reverse-engineer about white washers. Cold hard facts indeed. What a brillant and clear official statement ! Bull's eye ! Well played ! Let's hope the white-washerophobics will read these wise words and come to their senses. I...

DEMO Aion's Redshift and Spectron (EHX Small Stone and Lovetone Meatball)

Most of the times, i order full kits from musikding, with drilled enclosures. I am probably paying an extra 10 euros or so in total for such a big build, but I don't have to worry about sourcing the wrong parts, or making mistakes when drilling the enclosure.
