TUTORIAL PedalBlock Tone Control - Gimme All The Muffs!

Do you mean the Systec Harmonic Energizer? That one is actually a parametric mid boost. https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/zapper/

TUTORIAL PedalBlock Tone Control - Gimme All The Muffs!

It will work, at the cost of a huge drop in volume, and an unpredictable response due to the high impedance and complex impedance of guitar pickups. If you're unfamiliar with this stuff, try playing around with the Duncan Tone Stack Calculator: https://www.duncanamps.com/tsc/download.html A BMP...

    Earthquaker Bellows

To be fair, they were the first to use a JFET across the collector and base instead of a diode, and something about that sounds better. Their build also has a microcontroller and relay for bypass which a normal DIYer couldn't do. They also added an unbuffered input volume control like the early...

    Earthquaker Bellows

I experimented with it for weeks a few years back. I'll post a schematic if I can dig it up.

    Earthquaker Bellows

I've done this too. I like the result of the roll-your-own darlingtons in Bazz Fuss circuit, and the Bellows is the best Bazz Fuss circuit IMO. You can also have some fun by inserting a pot between the collectors, which are normally tied together in an NPN Darlington pair.

Momentary oscillation switch mod for Seabed delay (deep blue delay)

Yeah, you've got it. The next step I was going to suggest was taking a pair of Red LED's and putting them in anti-parallel from Pin 16 to ground, or across Pin 15 & 16. You can probably manage to test this with alligator clips if you have them. The LED's will clip before the PT2399, but this...

    Ocelot question

The OC-2 is like that too. On Bass, the famous setting is -1 Oct maxed with the other two registers muted. The same thing with -2 Oct just doesn't work. Guitarists typically find the -2 Oct to be unnecessary too.

Momentary oscillation switch mod for Seabed delay (deep blue delay)

Yes to both. Back to back clipping diodes at the input will limit how loud the feedback / oscillation can get. Keep in mind, the reason designers tend to do this is the delay chip (PT2399) distorts in an ugly way, so by creating our own clipping before we reach the clipping threshold of the...

PedalPCB Terrarium - Compact Daisy Development Platform

What are your thoughts on replacing one of the pots with a Rotary Switch? The Arachnid had a very nice control layout, with the 8-position rotary right in the center. That PCB was beautifully done. Also, notice by only using 3 toggle switches and orienting them horizontally, Chase Bliss and...

PedalPCB Terrarium - Compact Daisy Development Platform

It will come with time. The Daisy has a much steeper learning curve than the FV-1, and you can see evidence of that over at the Daisy Guitar effects forum. One guy who has developed FV-1 effects professionally is struggling to do simple bypass on the Daisy. Early last year I was getting deep...

    Tayda predrilled enclosures

Yeah that's right. Everything is ready to go except the USB hole.

    Tayda predrilled enclosures

Oh... Probably the same size you used for the toggle switches: 6.55mm. 🤦

    Tayda predrilled enclosures

Awesome. Creating the template now. I wouldn't have been able to get started without your help. For the LEDs, I use the plastic 5mm bezels. On bare aluminum enclosures, a 1/4" drill bit creates a hole where I have to work hard to get the bezel in, but it stays snug without any glue. What size...

building a big "dummy box" SCHMORG

I liked how you did the LED's with the trimmer on a piece of perf. Can you give us the rundown on those?

    CDXL Response

Has anyone tried building this with dual LDR's and an LED?

Is it just me or is the Simulcast kinda bright?

Somewhere along the way I found that I liked playing spongy cathode biased amps at cleanish settings, so the Vox ACs and the Tweed Deluxe do the trick for me. They tend to like overdrives that are just as messy as they are, so the Broadcast might be a good pairing. Does anyone know when the...

Using trimmers in place of pots

I've done this before and I didn't like the way it turned out. The legs had to be bend so much that it wasn't even close to flush with the board and the whole thing could be bent over with a slight push.

Sherwood Treble - Bright Even When Turned Down

Are you sure? I'd be really surprised if @PedalPCB made that kind of mistake tracing it. Earthquaker Devices - Westwood [traced]

Can anyone explain this to me?

Well, mostly. It's a James tonestack because there are caps rather than resistors on either side of the Treble pot. There is also something else going on because James tonestacks can be passive, but this one has negative feedback. I think the inverted signal fed back to the Treble and Bass...

    Tayda predrilled enclosures

That would be great. Maybe @PedalPCB can provide the right coordinate and hole-size for the Micro-USB plug.
