Made a UV print mistake with my Tayda order

What font was it? That seems to be the major variable. (Not speaking from Tayda experience, but as someone that produced output for graphic designers for many years.) @Paradox916 has the correct answer. Even super popular fonts like Helvetica have many variants, both in letters and kerning, so...

Please explain rotary switch wiring to me

The outer ring of contacts are positions, and the inner contacts are the poles. (On a toggle switch, the center contact is the pole, with the outer contacts the positions.) Many rotary switches allow you to limit the rotation of the knob, so the same switch could potentially be anywhere from 2...

Survey for Master Thesis – Fuzz Pedal Comparison

That’s great news! After the coming bot revolt, maybe they’ll let this site continue!

    EQ Anyone?

It's funny, because of the design I figured it was based on a Boss pedal, and then saw that the NE-7 was the Boss 7 band. And I've been out of the pedal building hobby for a while (just taking a break!) I didn't realize that the post title was the PCB name—Boy, Robert has BEEN BUSY! And. as...

    EQ Anyone?

I wasn't familiar with the NE-1, so I just did a bit of research to confirm my guess. Short answer—no, they do different things (although the Mercurial might be able to closely imitate what the NE-1 does. Mercurial is a boost, with a tunable notch filter. You pick a center frequency, and then...

    Skeptical Buffer

I’m not finding any info on the Eunuch variant (truly great name)—was this a pcb or a mod for the Skeptical?

What are the pedals every guitarist must have?

Yeah, that’s the one! I never thought I’d want more friction in my pedal. (He gives directions on how to add a bit of drag.) Squeak free, multiple pot curve simulations, limiters, the works.

What are the pedals every guitarist must have?

It’s so dependent on what type of music you play, and if it’s with others, what instruments they’re playing. I’m solo 95% of the time. And I have been enjoying a way over the top number of pedals—like enough so that 2 CIOKs DC7s ran out of juice. Then, just 2 weeks ago, I decided to pare it down...

    Clean enclosures?

Paint stores have “TSP substitute”, that I dilute and use as a spray cleaner for greasier stuff around the house. It’s a very effective degreaser, and relatively safe. For paint prep, I’d still do at least a quick wipe with alcohol or mineral spirits. Sanding is fine, but it doesn’t get rid of...

Pot form factor for PedalPCB boards?

Sometimes if I’ve vertically reconfigured a knob location I’ll use a longer legged version to allow for the move. If it’s more than that allows, I just add wires. I’ve also specifically ordered long lead pots if the shorter lead ones are not available, but it’s finicky trimming them to length.

    Solid core shielded wire

If this is for short, internal runs, you can make your own—I started doing this because it was easier than dealing with unraveling braided, and I prefer solid anyway. Here’s a link that describes my process: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/making-custom-short-pieces-of-coax.15150/

    Faceplate Question

Looks like partial acid etching. I used to get a lot of this stuff done. From this company: https://www.etchnow.com/our-work But, it’s expensive. If you can gang up a bunch of plates into one sheet, the per plate cost would come down. But still, expensive! However, the detail and crispness of...

Current Lover Flanger distortion with hot pickups - remedy?

I still haven’t built mine (have been not buliding any pedals until I decorate the pile of raw pedals I have)—but am wondering how many volts you’re using? The 2023 design can go up to 18v, which typically gives you greater headroom than lower voltages. Might be worth a try.

How to set EQ on pedal design?

I really fall into this trap: I like a specific tone signature, and if I’m not careful, modify many pedals to this signature; then, I wonder why they all sound so similar!

    Tube dampener rings

I tend to throw these on power tubes and preamp tubes (that aren’t in the metal can surrounds). I have bags of different sizes that I get at McMasters. Even if the tube doesn’t seem to rattle, the glass most likely (see how unscientific I can become, fast?) vibrates at some sympathetic...

Pedal to 'Blackface' a Tweed Deluxe

I second the Equalizer suggestion. Besides doing what you need with the frequencies, you can also use it as a subtle boost—I think the main issue though is trying to maximize whatever clean headroom you can get out of it; when I think of Blackface v the earlier Fender variants, it's largely a...
