Got any tips for soldering these? I did the ones on my Protoboard but it was a big slot and still hard to do. I did such a terrible job I was actually surprised it worked but it did :)

That's a great looking build and sounds great too. I'm curious why you used the SMDs and was there a place to solder them in or did you rig something up? Also, do you do your 3PDT wiring in the enclosure or out? That wiring and soldering looks perfect.

I am going to try to build it out on the breadboard the way you did with that single op amp chip that you said had a nice mid range in another thread. I'm hoping when I reflow the solder, the noise will be gone.

I'm going to reflow some solder on the pots and external wires and see if that helps.

I'll have to play around with all the cool stuff you all posted above. If in doubt, I have it looking great without any effects applied and I'll just roll with that. I just hope my decal paper will look good over the black pedal box. It might be too washed out by the pedal color.

What is the effect I need to research to get the tattered box/stroke look on the Friedman BE-OD? Both the box around Friedman and the stroke around the pedal.

So yours does the same thing? This is by far the hissing-ist pedal I've ever owned. I was thinking I might have damaged a solder joint when I removed it. It's loud with the level down and the gain up a bit. Sounds great though when I am playing it and not hearing the hiss over the toan :cool:

Fortunately that was an easy fix. It is working now but very noisy. Is it supposed to be noisy? I like to keep the level up all the way along with the sizzle and boy does it sizzle when idling. Reminds me of what Ozzy used to say about Randy's amps.

Dang.. these DC jacks throw me every time. I'm getting the pos/neg non-battery ones next time. So just move it to the bottom one?

I took my time and had this wired up and looking good but it wouldn't work after I finished. I got sound and then when I clicked on the stomp, no sound and no LED. Took it out and connected power from my Protoboard to the board with everything wired but the DC jack and everything worked fine...

Sounds good.. Have you ever played the real SLO30? I'd love to know how they compare.

Mine turns itself off.. or at least lowers the temp automatically after a certain time.

I have everything I need to build this pedal except one 4m7 and one 2k4 resistor. I do have a 5M1 and 2K7. Could I sub these for those or would it mess up the build?

Awesome.. back when my uncle was alive he was the best Sheetmetal guy around. He built all kinds of stuff professionally from the inside of police K9 vehicles to news vans to semi trailers. I wish I'd have known about all this stuff when I was younger and could have gotten him to teach me some...

That looks so cool... how'd you build that box @steviejr92 Cool design on the jewel box too. I seem to prefer LEDs over diodes and wondered what it looked like inside the pedal when I play my pedals.
