    Jlcpcb and tariffs

Bad take. I get wanting to keep this board free of political talk, but, as you can see, this is affecting many people in that they are uncertain/anxious about what everything means. Folks should be free to discuss their experiences and ask advice from others. There haven’t been ad hominem...

trying to figure out a type and source for these components.

Data sheets are very useful. Wima publishes them for each series and lists the specifications for the devices within it. Relevant to your search, the MKS2 series, for example, does not include 27nF parts.

First time using strip board-HP-1 circuit, confused about footswitch wiring

Check out the resource here to see a common stripboard wiring scheme. The input and output are wired to the pots as indicated in the diagram notes. It's just like any other effect circuit, you just have to wire the indicator LED and current limiting resistor offboard with this layout.

    Schematics for pedals using 2N5457?

In a schematic, polarity will typically be indicated if it’s relevant. Often, this is because the value is greater than or equal to 1uF, as that is when polarized capacitor packages (i.e., aluminum electrolytic or tantalum) become more common. For a schematic associated with a particular board...
