    Tommy III (Timmy v3)

One more that's been sitting in the queue for quite a while: the Tommy III. Sounds absolutely fantastic! Had this one UV printed on an army green enclosure with Tayda a while back, I think it looks cool.

    Carbon Black (EQD Black Ash)

I have a MKIV Tone Bender. They're quite different. The MKIV is quite fuzzy, but it's closer to a distortion than an old Tone Bender. I believe the Black Ash is much closer to an MKII Tone Bender with an added Top control at the output stage. The resistor values are different from a stock MKII...

    Carbon Black (EQD Black Ash)

I'd love to be capable enough to do something like that!

    Carbon Black (EQD Black Ash)

Had some free time last light and finally put this one together. Decided to go with carbon comp just because that's the original uses. Minimalist black on black look, no artwork, black wires to go with it. I actually think it looks pretty cool this way! Sounds really good, and it's surprisingly...

    Reliable fasel inductor

I have a red fasel I bought for my tearjerker build but ended up not using it. Happy to send it your way for cost if you're interested.

1P2T mini slide switch (Tommy III)

That's very kind of you, Dan! I might take you up on that. Will DM you, thanks so much! And thanks @PedalPCB for the link!

1P2T mini slide switch (Tommy III)

Does anyone know where I could source a mini 1P2T slide switch in the US? Similar to this one from Tayda: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/mini-slide-switch-1p2t-through-hole-0-2a-24vdc.html It's for a Tommy III build. I bought 5 of those from Tayda months ago, but I can't find them anywhere...

    Germanium Transistor Lot

Smallbear would definitely be my recommendation. eBay is hit or miss, unless you know the seller's reputation. Pedal Hacker is another great source, but they don't always have a ton of germanium transistors available.

    Clandestine Preamp

There's a 1N4748A Zener diode used to bring the 26V down to about 22V at the end of the power supply.

    Clandestine Preamp

My original measures 12.46V, with a Vref of around 22V.

    Clandestine Preamp

@fig I guess now you understand what all those Orange Drop caps you saw on the picture of my breadboards were for!

    Clandestine Preamp

I've been busy with a whole bunch of other stuff, so not building many pedals, but here's a super fun project: the Clandestine Preamp (Chase Tone Secret Preamp). I was thinking about buying this one for a while, and I ended up getting one about a month or so ago. Opened it up, it looked pretty...

    BC550C

As Benny said, the datasheet will give you a pretty good idea. Of those three, it looks like 2N5089 would give you the highest gain.

    A couple of Muff-style builds

That's exactly what my friend who's obsessed with Big Muffs keeps saying. I'll try that out when I build one for myself.
