DEMO Shut up and play yer guitar.....

The Vela sounds great. I’ve been arguing with myself about buying one for years. I don’t need more guitars. I don’t need more guitars. I don’t …

    SOLVED Delegate Squeal at 3.3mHz

It’s usually not a bad component. Could be, but usually not. https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/important-supplying-pictures-when-an-issue-arises-with-a-pcb-build.7081/

    Cleft Mod on War Scythe

I haven't built it, but Q3, 4, 5, and 6 are on the hoof side. So those substitutions make sense:

Diode Thunderdome: 4 pairs enter, 1 pair leaves

Yes, Tayda jumpers on the pots and Tayda 24 gauge solid wire soldered to the switches. Lightly soldered so they’ll easily come apart if needed. But maybe I just commit these to be breadboard switches. I was also thinking of dedicating one of the center holes to an ON-ON and wire it as a...

Diode Thunderdome: 4 pairs enter, 1 pair leaves

While auditioning clipping diodes, I realized it is more efficient and fun to take the time to setup some switches instead of manually swapping them in / out of the breadboard. In the picture below, the 2 switches are spdt on-off-on. The blue wires are feeding the switch from the op amp...

Ridiculously loud output volume with Roboto

Is R12 brown-black-black-red? I can't see it well enough in the picture, it's the bottom one on the right.

Ridiculously loud output volume with Roboto

I would color code check all of the resistors. Maybe you installed a 47R instead of a 47k, etc. I’ve done that before. I’ve never found a bad component. I’m sure it can happen, but in my case it’s always been bad soldering or incorrect component install.

Glory Hole just makes static when engaged

I would figure out the led first. That should be easy. I would look at the schematic and check resistance between the + jack and the LED anode. Does it match the led resistor value? Then check continuity from the cathode to the - jack with the foot switch on and off.

    Breadboard Simulator Software

I use graph paper. And then I fold it into airplanes when done. I at least identify which nodes are overloaded and won’t fit on one breadboard line. And then layout the circuit blocks in a logical pattern. After that, it seems like a waste of time and it’s easier to work the small details on...

Some issues with the FreakZEQ pedal build

Ok, here is what I learned today: This pedal (breadboard) is very cool and I’m going to build it with no modifications. I get very noticeable changes for each of the knobs. 1. At first, I wasn’t sure how to use it. 2. Then I maxed the Q and set the gain pretty high. I played a couple of...

Some issues with the FreakZEQ pedal build

Jeff, did you mess with this anymore? I got my breadboard working. It's functioning and I should get some more time to play it tonight. I did use a 56pF instead of the 60. As I was building it, I noticed some things: 1. R16, 17, and 18 are strange values: 215, 287, and 24300. I stacked...

Trying to layout a muff on the breadboard

And don’t get frustrated. I spent 3 days debugging this mess. I had ONE resistor going to V+ that should have been going to ground. I had to walk away from it multiple times. I was about to tear the whole thing apart!

Trying to layout a muff on the breadboard

Did you lose the 0.1 uF that goes from the diodes back to the base of Q2 and Q3?

Trying to layout a muff on the breadboard

It's looking great for a first try. I've only done a few myself, you'll get better at organizing the layout each time. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work right away and you need to walk through it again. I like to think of it in terms of the nodes, and how many "things" should be...

Trying to layout a muff on the breadboard

Yes. My only suggestions would be to 1. swap the 3 wires going to the bottom 2 rows, to keep + along the red line and - along the blue line. Just to avoid confusion, but It will work the way you have it now. 2. Pot pins are too large and can damage the breadboard. I would move them off to...

Clipping switch? Mosfets as clipping diodes?

The links jimilee and I posted both do the same thing using slightly different wiring. They give you two options depending on what you connect to the outside poles. You could get a third option if you use an on/off/on switch. When OFF, you would have no clipping diodes.
