Board is way too tight for film caps - *maybe* C11 but no way C9 so electro it is. Thanks for the info on the TL072. I've always found that to be the case that there isn't much if any diff, especially for guitar stuff.

+1 on the lumberg 1/4 jacks. They are the only ones that let me stuff some of these projects into 1590B with top jacks

Tayda has 2134s for $3.5 - a buck cheaper than Mouser but I don't get hit with Mousers $9 shipping. Anyone bought these from Tayda or have opinion on reputability for these types of components? No dis intended - I've had GREAT luck with them but the market is flooded with fake JFETS, OP AMPS...

Thanks - yeah I just measured all my 1960's Texas Instrument 2N1304/6 stash and I have a pretty good selection to chose. And AionElectronics has some decent guides on gain and leakage, as well as biasing- I know the tone benders can be picky. I'll probably order a few PNP fuzzes and try them...

Which tester? This one? I've had issues with it recognizing J201s that I know (from Mouser long ago) were real Edit: I just used it to check some 2N5457 ones that I got from Mouser and it shows up as NJFET

+1 shipping is reasonable there so total (for one) is about $5 but it's a pretty safe bet it's genuine. I think that pedal only needs one 2n5457
