I’ve ordered some from Ukraine via ebay. Some a few days after the war started and some about 2-3 weeks ago. First order got here (US) in about 5 weeks. Still waiting on second order.

@fig where do you get those pretty resistors and caps and are they worth it? I feel a strong urge to restock my entire inventory w them

Dumb question - you do have the IC in when you're testing - right? its not there in the pic edit: not there in the last pic but is in the first. so probably a non issue

I stick to grabbing any audio type device that looks to be from the 70s or older. My local recycling center has a free swap shed where people leave any usable item and everything is free! So I haven’t spent $ on harvesting stuff yet

Yeah that’s what I saw. Just wanted to make sure it was doing essentially same thing as a dust cap.

Don’t forget the ski mask. Cool. I just use dust covers but it’s good to know I wasn’t missing some additional function it served. Thx!

I'm about to start on an Abyss build and I see on its page that there is a pot insulator suggested. It seems to be intended for the dual pot but what's the purpose exactly....something additional to a dust cover or does it essentially do the same thing?

Ugh this one might have beaten me. I built an audio probe (yay) and can trace sound until C2. Neither R9, nor C4 have any sound and I've redone the solder at C2, C4 and R9. still nothing. no leg of any IC has sound. a few have an annoying clicking in time with the LFO Is it possible...

I never used to, and now I can't put anything into a board without testing it. Time saved later tracking down a bad part... Does your TC-1 do IC's? The one I have doesn't but I could have sworn the listing said it did when I bought it...

Sure. I linked some pics in my first post as they were too big but I’ll get some smaller ones now. Chipset was from cabintech if I recall. I’ll take good pics of them as well

Hmmm. Ok that’s something to go on. I’ve just now messed w the trim but still nothing. Think I maybe need to learn to read a schematic/make an audio probe and see how far I get signal. Most complex build for me yet, so psyched to hear it. Of course gives me the most grief. Lol

Hi all. Finished up a caesar chorus build, I'm getting sound when bypassed, nothing when engaged. Led's both work, LFO pot adjusts flashing LED (seemingly) as it should. I've reflowed anything that looked suspect and most of the rest. Cleaned 2x with 99% Isopropyl, still nothing. Gave...

after a 2nd try I've decided to snip/clean out the pads and resolder. there should be enough pin left even if I need to reshape them to fit through the holes.

What’s the best way to approach this? I tried a (cheap) sucker and some solder wick. Just made myself frustrated.
