I'll poke around wires and maybe do some reflows. As far as time frame it's been probably almost a year since i built it. No new lighting or environmental stuff as i can tell. I've tried it at both mine and my partner's place and with 4 different power supplies.

Hey everyone. I have a shallow water that i've been using for a while that now has this persistant hum/hiss out of nowhere. This is so much more of a complicated pedal than I've ever had to diagnose so i'm totally stumped where to start. I'd imagine it's not and cold joints or bridges since...

Only issue now i when i click the mode footswitch i get a pretty significant pop. So just need to figure that out now. I know the common way to fix popping in a bypass switch, but will have to see if any of them work in this case. This one feels like it might be the most likely issue...

So my dumb ass already did this and didn't realize. I did add c12 to the treble module and have an old note saying to connect it there. I guess that's what i get for coming back to this months later after not working on it 🤦‍♂️

Here's a higher resolution. It's wired exactly like it's shown in a diagram, double checked to be sure. I'll try to get some photos though if after trying your suggestion doesn't work. So what you're saying is take C12 out and put the 'in' of the treble block on one pad, and the 'out' on the other?

Okay so I'm back with no luck. Here's what I've tried: Swapped PT2399s Swapped a LM833 to a NE5532 Installed a green LED between PT2399 pins 3 and 7 Replaced R& and R18 with 27k resistors and R13 with a 33k Swapped out the L78L05 Any other ideas you can think of? I tried audio probing around...

Since there's not build a build doc up yet. Does the part numbering match the muffin fuzz and we can just go off that for the time being?

Sadly the green LED trick didn't change anything. So looking like i'll have to probe.

Ya i read through it and a lot of good stuff to try. The build was for a friend. So it's hard to say if the noise just started happening or he just not noticed it 🤷‍♂️. For sure going to try the green LED trick. Just was trying to do more reading/prep on my lunch break.

To get this thread back on track haha. Question about audio probing. I've only done it on pretty simple circuits. Following the flow of the Space Spiral is pretty easy below. But not 100% sure how to diagnose anything connected to the PT2399. Can i just probe each pin for instance and if it...

Suddenly there's a fizz in the repeats only. Seems to get worse when turning the time knob up. Was pretty subtle at low settings but quite noticeable at longer times. No difference if the repeats are up or and 0, same with depth and rate Voltages in the ICs all seems to be normal, no blown caps...

Another thing people have said here too is to not skimp on mechanical parts. You don't have to buy the fancy red caps or expensive resistors. But it is probably worth it to get alpha pots vs tayda or whatever else and splurge on nicer stomp switches. I also don't like glueing LED's down since...

I just saw that PedalPCB is stocking Ge transistors now. Are any of them a good fit for a Harmonic Perc? Thanks!
