SOLVED Mini heterodyne receiver is very loud

A trim pot or just add a pot from the output, center lug to the output jack, last lug to ground. I added one to my mini. It's a big help.

How bad are they really? Talk me out of PCB Guitar Mania

I built a seek trem clone from them. It was fine but the pots should have been installed on the opposite side. No mention of it in the instructions. So the thing runs with pots turning the opposite direction and the LEDs light from right to left. Also I ended up wiring a single foot switch...

DEMO S.M.P.T.E. — a love letter to Frank Zappa & the Systech Harmonic Energizer

Nice work. One of my all time favorite pedals. Great for solos or cocked wah.

    Ernie Ball VPJR Expression Mod…

    1. Does the pedal work as a volume pedal now? 2. What type of pot did you use? Linear or audio taper? 3. Are you positive you rewound the string inside correctly? I think you wound it backwards and perhaps not tight enough. Please follow this video . You really need a hook! Yes, there is...

What Big Muff should I build next?

Build a peach fuzz and you'll stop using muffs. Ha. At least I did.

Are there many JHS stompboxes based on other circuits from the diy community ?

Ha that's my YouTube account. Funny. I've had a cordial email back and forth since yesterday with Josh. I'm hoping he ends up doing a show on diy builders. I'll hand it to him for at least contacting me.

Are there many JHS stompboxes based on other circuits from the diy community ?

I guess at the end of the day, I just wish there was more transparency which would help uphold builder's ethics and really help the consumer make better choices. There's no shame in redoing old work.

    SOLVED Aion tight metal issue

Are you positive you didn't put it in backwards? That would be my guess. Usually the line is where the stripe end goes. Not totally sure what's it's purpose is. Reverse voltage protection?

    Haarp build with modes notated

She was a success. Fun pedal to get lost in. I tried my best to notate the modes and the scales or patterns based on a c note being played, if it helps anyone.

    Organ donor success.

Finished this and a haarp in 4 hours flat. New record. Easy straight forward build. Love the sound. Always wanted a POG, but this gets pretty close and tracks better than my digitech whammy pedal. The quirks that make it sound like an organ is an extra bonus. One of my bands has a tune...

Can somebody please explain to me how to measure a diode and know if "this will be more compressed"

Check the data sheets for forward voltage. The lower ones like the BAT will compress and clip the most, with slight volume loss. You dirty rat uses those.

Talk to me about the harmonic percolator

I built one. Ended up taking out the diodes. It can be a very open sounding pedal. Great for chords if you don't crank the gain. Cheap easy build even if you don't have a premade board. It's a very unique sounding pedal and loud as hell. I ended up taking out my diode and transistor...

    EQ Shootout

Just for the control look of them. The 6 band eq can surgically eq things better probably. If that's what you need.

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

I've had plug jacks do the same thing for no apparent reason that I've had to swap out of pedals. Something could be faulty

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

Buffers help sometimes to put back the treble in a long chain of cables. Try a buffered pedal before and/or after it too

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

Was the first clip with one cable only? Cables have impedance too. Also bad connections can also degrade the signal. Check the cables each too.

What can I make with these Ge transistors?

Connect the base and collector. That will become the cathode and emitter becomes the anode.

What can I make with these Ge transistors?

Don't let the name fool you. Treble boosters add hair and just cut unnecessary low end in a band mix. You can change the input cap to add more bass back in. The really low gain transistors can be used as a ge diode.
