    Ignore the smd footprint on the PCB. It has no correlation when using an adapter. Just put the 3 legs in the 3 holes. Use right angle headers to tighter clearances.

    It can be done, but can I ask why? Not sure you'll gain a ton vs the biasing issues you may have. I.e., the bias setting that's best for one transistor may not match the next. For Si, this is much less of a problem but for Ge, it could be a big issue. If you find 2 germs that sound good...

    Either up the value of R24 or jump a resistor from one side of R24 to ground, maybe at D2, to bleed some signal to ground. You could also use a trimmer to match levels more accurately.

    Ah. Using optos and/or digi pots I guess? Wire a pot to a switch to a trs jack and find out. I don't think you'll get momentary action though if moving the pot on the pedal is a requirement.
