In such a small circuit I cant understand why I can't bias the only transistor in the circuit. I get it to Bias to 4.6v but I have to have all pots maxed and hit the string pretty hard to get a sound thats farty and dies out in less than a second I've tried both a mmbfj201 and a through hole...

No signal at pin 7 of IC1 No signal at pin 5 of IC1. Signal at pins 1,2,3 & 6 of IC1 Yes I get signal with a mild or somewhat weak filter sweep in non distorted mode and dead silent in Distortion mode

ok so the switch wasnt the problem although the faint whistle is gone. Its dead quiet which it wasn't before. checking envelope side against demos and seems that properly working ones have much more obvious "envelopeing" happening than mine. My first thought is Ive got a wrong value in there...

IMAGE 0792 looks to be a bad solder joint on the switch.

In distortion mode I get signal on lugs 2 & 3 of the sens pot which serves as the volume pot for the fuzz. As I turn the sens pot CW the signal increases on lug 2 of the sens pot. As it should (I assume}. lug 3 sounds so much brighter than 2 (better to my ears). nnno clue now what to do with...

An update. I audio probed the circuit in envelope mode and since I don't know I gotta ask. I did not get any signal on either side of d2/3 No signal on either side of R11 No signal either side of C5. I've got continuity on both sides of the switch ok so I flip the switch to dist/fuzz I have...

Thought I had it figured out but. Nope My low baller works in clean mode but not in fizz or distortion mode I checked the toggle switch and it has continuity both ways I guess its time to pull out the audio probe.

I finally got my Lowballer to work one side of the toggle (the clean side) and silence the other side of the toggle. Happy with it so far. Probably start with Captain Obvious's suggestion of the toggle switch . Still another cool PedalPCB build knocked down This seems to be another pedal...

Thanks all for the insight. Unfortunately changing the charge pump to spca only quieted it down so Ill try a scpaz and see how that goes I don't recall where I found the mod might've been here on this site but here's what I have . I believe it was supposed to help with the whine .

I built Sabrotone's Lighthaus. Absolutely love it. I did not have the 2n1306 or 8 transistors which are germanuim. I can't remember where why or how I acquired the one's I did use which were 2n2369a. These are silicone. I know I never compared datasheets between the 1306 and 2369a would'nt know...

I have a pedal. It passes signal in by-pass it does not when engaged. It has a high pitched squeal that can be adjusted moving the pots (i.e. volume pot ,response pot etc. led's work as they should. but the squeal is pretty loud and always there. I suppose I should mention the build I'm asking...

The build docs call for TC1044scpa I have a 7660cpaz and although it powers up and passes signal there is a whine there and I did the 39k resistor and 10nf cap mod. Would using the 7660 be another possible cause for the whine?
