    Mach 1 / Lightspeed

That's a good idea. I have to change out to an imperial step bit for these so that would save me a step. They fit ok with a 1/4" hole but can get pushed up with a moderate amount of force. I'm using this style but it's a similar application

    Mach 1 / Lightspeed

Looks great! I love those cupcake knobs. How do you secure the LED lens to the enclosure? I picked up some like that a couple weeks ago but they are loose in the enclosure as the clips are meant to work with a thicker metal. I tried spacing them out with nylon washers but they make it difficult...

    Kliche True Bypass Toggle Switch

I thought about it for a while and came up with this. It's not perfect but works with my limitations (3PDT footswitch and DPDT toggle) It leaves the output from the board connected when in true bypass when the effect is off but I believe that should be ok as there is no audio signal going thru...

    💖 Stay Alive ✨ Top Five of '25 💖

The first 3 of my top 5 are easily the Luxury 763, Amber OD, and Dielectric Boost. I love each of these so much for what they do for my guitar tone. They play nice with each other as well! I don't use 4 and 5 as much but they were both fun and challenging builds and sound great! They are...

    1/4W Resistor in 1/8W size?

I appreciate your description, but can you tell me to imagine homestyle waffles instead? I'm not so fond of pecan, but I will take it if there's no other option

Damaged pad. Help finding another ground connection

Yeah, if you can get the leg thru the damaged pad and bend it over to the R2 then that's fine. Or use a trimmed off leg to connect the two. Stranded wire can get messy. MG Superwick 425 is the best desoldering wick, makes it real easy to remove things

Damaged pad. Help finding another ground connection

There's a ground pad right next to it, the upper pad of R2. See how there are crosshairs around those two solder pads? That means those solder pads connect to ground. Fixing it is easy - pull C6 carefully so you don't damage its other pad, then put in a new component and leave the ground leg a...

    1/4W Resistor in 1/8W size?

I just ordered some of these in 820R, 1K, and 10K, and selected 1/4W thru the filters, and they are as small as an 1/8W resistor. Is this weird? The description for these lists 1/4W and it matches up with my invoice. Just trying to find out if I have to look out for this in the future with...

    Where are people getting potentiometers?

It's not hard. First you get one of the corner pots in, like the top left. Make sure the legs are level, and test fit the board over the pot. Then do same with the top right. Once these two are in you can eyeball the position of the top middle. Then do the same on the bottom row. When you...

    Where are people getting potentiometers?

^ When I pre solder, the pots always end up a bit skewed in either direction as the diameter of the pad holes is greater than the pot legs. Lately I've been installing the pots in the enclosure first and then fitting the board into them, which has allowed me to place the boards in better spots...

    Awful Waffle 8V2 Zener 1/2W 9.1V substitute

It's probably meant to replicate a low battery. You could socket it if you want and swap it out later, but the 9.1v should be fine actually it looks like it works in concert with the voltage divider made by R101 and 102. Perhaps you should change R101's value to 100k and omit the zener

What should I do to my wah pedal?

Alright! I swapped out the transistors to the right pinout and put together the jfet buffer. The pedal sounds great! No noise and just the right amount of clarity. Thanks!

    Resistor values and Noise

I notice the value of the capacitor increase while the resistor decreases - the value of C1 is 25nF while C21 is 250nF. Does this also introduce noise? Is out 3 the same amplitude as out 1? Do the resistors affect the signal in an absolute way, or are they relative to each other?

What should I do to my wah pedal?

Gotcha. I'll set up the Jfet buffer tomorrow. I changed the 68k input resistor to a 47k and the Q1 emitter bias resistor to a 360R. I realize now I did not keep in mind the pinout of the BC549's, so that's probably where my volume issue is. Is there a certain kind of footswitch you like to use...

What should I do to my wah pedal?

Today was "fun." I changed the MPSA18's for BC549B's and discovered the solder pads come off very easily. I looked up how to do the true bypass because the standard wiring didn't make sense to me What I realized much later on is that there is a trace in the board from the input jack to C9...

What should I do to my wah pedal?

I might make this a Sunday project. What Jfet do you use in place of the MPSA13? A J201? Do I have to re bias it?
