    Cepheid Chorus Easter Build

Happy Easter but I don't think you're allowed to build a chorus that is not blue. Iirc it's somewhere in the bible. Jesus is not gonna like this 😅

    PedalPCB Chop Shop

You can also buy 90-degree pin headers so the adapter board stays vertical, which is necessary on densely populated boards.

Shallow Water / Low Tide Modulator build..

I paid about 60 Euros for my build. I got the PCB and faceplate from here and sourced the enclosure and ICs from a couple of European stores. And it doesn't work :) As I increase the Mix, no effect comes in. I tried swapping ICs, checked and rechecked my solder joints etc but since I also messed...

Shallow Water / Low Tide Modulator build..

I fumbled mine hard. I bought anotgher board and one day I will reattempt this. This time I'm gonna usae SMD J201s soldered directly to the board because I can't do the math involved in using them on adapter boards. Great job on the graphics! Let's hear it.

    Transistor Sockets

The rule is if you use transistor sockets you must also use an outie DC jack, a white washer on the foot switch and DYMO labels on the enclosure for maximum forum outrage. All joking aside, I always use IC sockets because ICs have too many legs and screw-ups would be frequent with my soldering...

    Low Tide Modulator

Yes just use a Lumberg. There's no need to use those bulky DC jacks if you're not using a battery.

How do YOU clean your boards?

From now on I will only refer to dish soap as fluid dining surfactant. And I guess the ultrasound is if flux makes you pregnant. Got it.

How do YOU clean your boards?

99% IPA and your girlfriend's ex-toothbrush. Don't be me and use your girlfriend's toothbrush cause it will soon be your ex-girlfriend's toothbrush. She left, the toothbrush stayed. Not the best deal but a deal nonetheless.

    NEIN! (Fairfield Circuitry ~900 Fuzz)

Very clean build! What gauge is the wire you use to connect the daughterboard (jelly of that!)? 26 AWG? Also are those caps dipped in dark or milk chocolate? Or is it Bovril?

question on fuzz face turret layout

Both the 20uF cap and lug 1 of the Fuzz pot have to go to ground, doesn't matter how. On a breadboard, I would connect them to the ground rail individually, each with its own jumper, for clarity. It's another benefit of breadboards, I can spread out the circuit and see where everything is going...

question on fuzz face turret layout

There are some great breadboarding tutorials on this forum. Take a look at those for a good workflow

question on fuzz face turret layout

Do you have the right transistors? Get two units with leakage below 100uA, gain can be anywhere between 150-300 depending on the specific silicon transistors, both can have the same amount of gain (the JHF1 is around 260 iirc) or stick to the classic germanium gains, 80 for Q1 and 120 for Q2...

question on fuzz face turret layout

My suggestion is to breadboard the circuit. It's the only way you will ever learn how these things work. Then you can make your own turret board layout, like I did. What trouble is the FF giving you?

If you were going to build a compact Bass pedalboard?

My bare minimum is a tuner and my precious Finally v3 with a 12AX7 with the HPF on by our friend @vigilante398 But for color I throw in a phaser and a chorus because I play in a cover band and my Nano+ has two empty slots

    Taqueria not sounding at all

I'll have to dig out the pedal from the morgue one of these days so I can measure it

    Taqueria not sounding at all

That's great. I suggest you explore the trimpots to find the Taco settings that work best for you. I initially set mine to the voltages shared by owners of the JHS pedal but I found better settings for my rig. I love this pedal, it's my dirt pedal when I perform solo.
