    Wah inductor help

An inductor is not a polarized component. It's just one long, thin wire wrapped around a core with two leads. And you are correct. Based on that photo, the top right and bottom left are connected. The other two legs are NOT connected and are used merely to help keep the inductor in place.

    Wah inductor help

The typical wah inductor should measure around 500mH. I've seen wahs with inductor Henry rages from 330mH to 650mH. Because the inductor has only two, non-polarized leads, it shouldn't matter. Just be sure one lead goes on the left side and the other to the right side.

Looking for simple compressor or limiter schematic

Then you'll likely want to go with the THAT4301 chip which doesn't suffer HF transient laziness. The SSM2166 lets them slip by. Ask most any AI engine this question: "How does the THAT4301 cope with the fast transients at higher frequencies compared to lower frequencies on the guitar compared...

Looking for simple compressor or limiter schematic

I'm unsure about your question about faster transient response for higher frequencies. What I can make out from the datasheet, I refer to TCP8a on page 5 of the datasheet. The SSM2166 uses a VCA to manage the gain bandwidth, which is virtually flat out to ~10K Hz. The SSM2166 is not extremely...

Looking for simple compressor or limiter schematic

Of the two I presented, the first is simply a marked up version (with a coupla mod suggestions) of the one from Muzique. The 2nd schematic is Jack Orman's yet-to-be released version 3 which doesn't have the amount of control the 1st one has. Version 3, while using the same chip, seems to be more...

Looking for simple compressor or limiter schematic

In that case, looking back on my own empirical experiences over time, I had to just build the things that I wanted garner such empirical experiences from. Eventually, I learned how to understand the datasheets by taking the time to scour them, digest what I could and learn how the various...

Looking for simple compressor or limiter schematic

Have you explored the potential of the SSM2166 chip? Jack Orman has done some slick things with this low parts count compressor chip.

New SpinCAD Designer release with major usability improvements

Considering the 'major' portion of SpinCAD Designer's version has been at 0.99 for all these years, one might imagine that a full 1.00 release is eminent.

Rockman X100 Rev. 10 Schematic Release

There never was an original "pedal" - only the module. The original of the module is more represented by the 1st posting of board #2. But it has mods we made for the actual 'pedal'. And thanks for pointing that out. The 2nd posting was the wrong file. It is now corrected. Here are the original...

Anyone Ever Use a SN76477 Complex Sound Generator?

Found an old (May/June 1981) issue of Polyphony with some "Tricks with the SN76477". It's an old, out-of-production sound generator chip with a lot of interesting features/options. The chip is only available from eBay where I found one reliable USA seller who has some NOS of them for $25.00...
