    Red Muffin

the LED resistor is marked here as CLR (= current limiting resistor) also, you don't have to use 4K7. it depends on the type of LED and how bright you like it. IMO, 4K7 is too large (too dull) for diffused LEDs, for waterclear/superbright LEDs, i find around 22K works well.

    Where did I go wrong...

chop all of the legs, as @Aentons has suggested. then try and remove each of them one by one.

    The anti-GAS thread

yeah true, if the cost of housing didn't already.. 🥵

    Reducing noise in audio circuits

+1 pretty much agree with everything @z2amiller mentioned. diminishing returns etc. on the watt rating for resistors. you’re not running high currents in a pedal circuit to warrant anything higher than 1/2W or even 1/4W. i’m not qualified to comment if it’s worth it, but i guess you could get...

What are these blue circles in the schematic?

it's indicative of a connection/junction point - i'm pretty sure this is where one of the header pins would go, i.e. a point where one board meets the other

    The anti-GAS thread

well, incidentally went to Ochanomizu last week. (first work trip/conference since 2019.) absolutely the worst thing for GAS ever. saw so much insane, awesome and rare gear that you'd just never see on a shelf here in dickheadland. even got to play an ESP M-II custom into a dual rec half...

Can we get an "ignore thread" option?

DIY tuner that costs about x2 TU-2s to land

    Electrovibe "Meridian V"

no idea, but from my build report I had these mods: - R4 - 4.7M, R2 - 6.8K (for increased/improved output volume) - 2N3904 for Q3, Q4 (lamp drivers, ?something about higher current capacity) dunno about the speed mods but it looks like @zeropluszero has that covered above

    Electrical shock survivors

this one's embarrassing when i was like 15, my bedroom was downstairs and it had one of these pull down cord switches for the ceiling light. the switch operated with this rocker thing inside. it wasn't heaps reliable, the rocker would sometimes get stuck and not switch between the terminals...

    Transistor Sockets

my apologies. to me it appeared to be reacting, as has occurred in other threads of the same topic that seem to generate a little bit of friction 😉 should’ve known better and just ignore the thread. all good 🍻

    Transistor Sockets

bro, calm down, i’m not your dad, im not @bluedmc777 ‘s dad either, my opinions aren’t an instruction. if you wanna use sockets, fill your boots, do what makes you happy 🫶🏻 i initially opted to stfu because i knew i’d see reactive emotional posts like this, but @bluedmc777 asked, so deal with...

    MC1458 makes the best distortion?

was impressed with the methodology and efforts to maintain the blind, but a sample size of n=4 is a bit small tbh

    Transistor Sockets

if you take the time to breadboard the circuit: - this will allow you to select the ideal transistors that sound good to you. the same point/concept applies to selecting clipping diodes, opamps or whatever else for many other circuits that don't involve obsolete parts. i.e. for many circuits...
