    Viceroy SMD JFETs

One vendor I can find that has them in stock, and more expensive than I was expecting. Sounds like that's the part I need.

Dumb question, maybe, but how are you applying these graphics?

    Viceroy SMD JFETs

So I am looking at my Viceroy board and I am seeing that the spots for the PF5102 JFETs are tied to identical pads to place SMD components. But so far my internet searching suggests there's no SMD version of the PF5102. Is this true? And if so, what should be going there? I really want to try...

Big Muff Ram's head 1973 "violet #4" vs Stomp 75

FWIW, I built my Violet #4 RH clone on vero board and it sounds very Gilmour-esque. I used either 2058s or 2059s, I can't remember. But here's a gut shot.

Pin header for Paragon (KOT Clone)

Pretty sure it's this: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/40-pin-2-54-mm-single-row-pin-header-strip.html Just snap off the right number of pins and you're set.

    PF5102 - Fake or am I dumb?

So here's an update. This btw is for another Parentheses Fuzz board that still isn't working yet. I found like 4 remaining PF5102s from earlier, and I put them in the TC1. I also put in a J201 for kicks. Results are below. I'm open for getting more testing equipment or making some sort of test...

    PF5102 - Fake or am I dumb?

It was a Chinese eBay seller so yeah, it's fake. I just ordered some from Smallbear to remedy the situation.

    PF5102 - Fake or am I dumb?

I just attempted to test one of a number of PF5102s that I ordered. Is there any way this makes sense? Because I thought it was supposed to be a JFET.

    1u film capacitor footprints

Can anyone point me towards an idiot's guide to differences between capacitor types? All I ever look at is price and tolerance.

    1u film capacitor footprints

Why is this shudder-inducing? I don't know what the benefits of an electrolytic are beyond the fact that they're super cheap.

Measuring LDRs an on going headache

OK, so I measured some that I got from Amazon and I wasn't getting a stable reading. I figured that I was doing something stupid but apparently it could also be the LDRs. Gives me a new thing to try again this weekend.

This looks fantastic. I may move this one up to the front of the line once I can afford to get more enclosures.

    Tayda UV Printing

I'm the wrong person to ask because if there was anything custom I needed, I just did it in Affinity. And it probably didn't even register that it needed doing.

    Tayda UV Printing

Yep! Although I already learned my lesson that the printing and the drilling won't necessarily line up, so I'm drilling everything myself. Definitely wouldn't be possible if I didn't spring for that drill press.

El Sol -> The Ecstasy of Gold

Nope, nothing that I've noticed. But most of my time since then has been spent building rather than playing. @Feral Feline thats a great anecdote! I will probably leave it as is and see if I can sell it cheap. I want to try the etching process again, because maybe fate didn't want me to etch a...

El Sol -> The Ecstasy of Gold

Oh shoot, I nearly forgot to talk about the easter egg. To fit with the theme, I sanded the aluminum in an "X" pattern. So, in the portrait area, the background is made of a million little double-crosses.

El Sol -> The Ecstasy of Gold

This is a dirt simple circuit and Acapulco Golds aren't in short supply so this was mainly an opportunity to practice different fabrication methods apart from the board soldering. For the graphic design, I took some inspiration from the earlier Acapulco Gold that had the gunslinger graphic. I...
