I, too, have built a pedal

Imagine someone putting this on to wake you up in the morning:

I, too, have built a pedal

Can you call this pedal the 'Yoko Ono' pedal? Trust me, it's a marketing gold mine.

I, too, have built a pedal

The 'eyebrow raise' on Chuck Berry's face says it all. Actually this pedal would come in pretty handy!! ...Especially the 'OFF' Function.

    Electrical shock survivors

Ack!! I just juiced myself plugging in a AA battery charger. I was kinda holding it a little akwardly, trying to plug it in. Sorta put my finger against the socket while I had a grip with a finger around the plug and it gave me a little love bite. It got the first Joint in ring finger, just a...

What should I do to my wah pedal?

Ah so that's what accounts for it!! I've definitely heard a few wah pedals spitting Fire and Brimstone at me late at night when left tuned in, Half-cocked.

What should I do to my wah pedal?

That's the one.....When I got it, the high end was so ear splitting you could use is as a dog whistle. Maybe it has potential as a Discombobulator!!??!

What should I do to my wah pedal?

What was that last part about negative feedback? Is that what you'd give me if I sold you my 'custom' wah pedal on ebay? Hey Five bucks is five bucks.

What should I do to my wah pedal?

You mean those awful board mounted 6-pin quarter inch input Jacks Dunlop uses as a deterrent to keep me from tampering with their board? Yeah I trust the infinite secret wisdom of the corperate gods to serve me goop, and make me like it. ... I get finicky and loose contact whenever I go to...

What should I do to my wah pedal?

Try a 250K tone pot. If your wah still sucks after that, I'll punch myself in the nuts for you. So far no one's said anything specific about tone pots. That was the secret sauce that worked for me at least, and this just spits in the face of your typical coffee snob....Just pour some hot...

Wah Inductors. No hype. Just measurements.

Sorry for the Hijack here, I mean...you can go hi-tech or you can just go lo-tech sometimes ....I can't intellectualize by the numbers. For me, it all came down to the tone pot. Years ago I modded my first Dunlop Crybaby following the 'stinkfoot' wah mods...dug through the parts drawer and...

    Electrical shock survivors

A couple ex-bandmates used to live in this totally illegal sub-leased basement apartment in a ghetto neighbourhood, NO GROUND on the house wiring...Straight up...Scorch marks eminating from the light fixtures in the kitchen. Sitting across the room from one another, both playing guitars plugged...

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

This is a little 60's era stencil amp/combo with a tremolo that currently does not tremolo...The trem pot is an on/off switch. The amp works fine...No tremolo effect...That's all there is for the trem controls too, no blend, the on/off tremolo pot probably just controls the rate. Any thoughts...

Cranky old whiner about the good ol days of diy pedals

I am old enough to remember Rat shack.... I built an electrovibe, it works. Just glad I'm not old enough to have build one of the older (pre-modern standard) Univibe layouts on "another" earlier DIY electronic builders forum I was browsing to research the circuit before attempting to build a...

    Electrical shock survivors

I was having a visit with a very old and venerable amplifier technician to have my 60's Traynor tube amps serviced. He had a lifelong library collection of electronic books and manuals on a shelf. The one that caught my eye was the 'Sunn((0)))' technician holy bible (Sorry I forget the title...

    What's your current headache?

Developers are the only one's that are going to make any money around here too...It's the same all over. At least you're not alone there. What a scandal. We all know how projects can go well over budget. Chances are real good they'll clear cut your backyard and the project will shut-down...

    Ordering from Canada

UPS in the tapehead and hi-fi audio world has always lovingly been referred to as 'United Parcel Smashers' I've never had a problem with DHL ordering from Europe, other than regular Customes fees or import duties. Things run smoothly.

    Undulator Tremolo troubles

It would take serious hustle to get on the heels of a Garnet amp, maybe someone downtown knows a guy who knows a guy kind of thing. I'll put it on my radar for you. A buddy of mine was asking me about building him a Garnet H-ZOG. I told him I'm not sure if I could build one from scratch, never...

    Undulator Tremolo troubles

Apologies for the derailment here...please don't mind me. What a coincidence!! A friend of mine picked up a vintage Stencil amp (The logo fell off, but it looks like a 'Vagabond' possibly Sears/Eatons) Classic 60's 70's Made in Canada, like a Garnet combo with a Tremolo. He doesn't play...

3-band EQ (Acoustic guiar) Hot-wired into a stomp box?

Thank you very much!! That's more gain than I know what to do with haha!! Then again, there's no such thing as too much gain? For me it would be like putting ketchup on my ketchup. That being said, more is more. Might come in handy to substitute the Gain on that EQ pedal, instead of running...
