I have a few 2N5088 on hand, a pedal calls for a 2N5087. Is it a bad idea to use it instead?

Ah right okay, I think I’ll need to park this board up for now

I have a few 2N5088 on hand, a pedal calls for a 2N5087. Is it a bad idea to use it instead?

The pedal is a clone of a Boss HM-2, Because one is NPN and the other PNP, should I install the 2N5088 backwards to how the doc says the 2N5087 should go?

You have two identical pedals to build: what’s the best/fastest method to tackle them both at the same time (or not? One at a time?)

I think everyone seems to agree that your tasks should remain split up, but shared across the boards. Do you populating together (gather ALL parts Cut all your wires at the same time Drill your enclosures at the same time Etc

You have two identical pedals to build: what’s the best/fastest method to tackle them both at the same time (or not? One at a time?)

I can’t find any info on this out there. So for those who have experience building little production lines (even if it’s two pedals), what’s the best method that you’ve found? Or do you find simply one at a time to be the best method in the long run?

I bridged them and it works, thanks for that

Can someone please debug the worlds easiest problem here for me...

I'm a beginner and figured I'd take what I learned and make a simple two channel looper. This pedal actually works really well. The only thing that isn't working here is the LED. It works with the switch (on/off) as long as both 1/4" inputs on the left side of the photo are empty. If either get...

Keen to build a testing box, but something I'm battling to find answers for...

Thanks for that, so the foot switch in the testing box, I would or wouldn't be able to test if bypass is working (clean signal when the pedal is off, affected signal when the pedal is on). To clarify, does the testing box foot switch control the bypass of the pedal?

Hey everyone, beginner here I'm keen to build a simple pedal testing box, I understand that in simplest terms it's offboard wiring expect you can connect 4 points to it. Input, Output, 9V and Ground. I'd just like to clarify something though, the grounds on the circuitboard of a pedal at the...

    Golden Falk, build 👍🏼

The lights are blinding. God, there’s a lot of people here tonight, I’m having a blast though. Okay well, second chorus just about done so it’s time for my ripping guitar solo. I’ve practiced so much, even borrowed @Dan0h new Golden Falk for this moment. I turn on the pedal and start sweeping...

Thermionic Deluxe – A first time builders post mortem

You’re totally right in that this one would have been out of my league to drill myself. My next two builds are triangle big muffs which I think will be a good starting point in DIY drilling Any tips for easier handling of the LEDs?

Thermionic Deluxe – A first time builders post mortem

So the Friedman BE-OD and I have been to some exciting places, it's the backbone of my chugs and toans. I hope you enjoy reading about my experience. This Christmas awarded me with three weeks of glorious free time, I was encouraged by Bryan (The Sword, RIP) of all people to give it a go as...

SOLVED Here's video of Thermionic Deluxe whistling when I turn the volume pots passed 12. (Happens with or without input jack in)

So I believe this was in fact a wire that had frayed with the 4 or 5 times I took it out and placed it back into the enclosure. It wasn’t on the footswitch, but instead the more packed channel switch. It finally broke off while I was debugging, once I replaced it, all worked well. I also swapped...

I’m using a Strymon Zuma, I’ll give that a go but I’ve never had a problem with it and it’s only a couple months old

It’s my first build, so the answer to your question is simply “because someone else with the same problem shielded just their input wire 😬”, I did have the same question. I noticed that the tone does shift in pitch when I move the output wire away from the board with my hand, but does nothing...

Another thought I had, all of my bottom row pots are hard pressed up against the board, though they all do have plastic dust caps on them. Would this be of any concern?

Tyrian - Whistling on Volume above 12 o'clock and when Blue/Red Mode engaged - possible issues?

I followed your suggestion and changed my input jack to shielded wire, no change in the whistle. Would you recommend I try the output as well or would that not really matter?

So, I changed out the input wire for a shielded wire. Grounded the shield to the Jack and insulated it with tape. Unbound the power wires. Fixed up a couple soldering joints etc. unfortunately zero change at all, is there anything that sticks out to you on these photos? Appreciate your eye here
