I‘ve build the mini version with similar values. I only used 4,7M instead of 3,6M but that shouldn’t be related to the behavior you mentioned. I will validate with my build.

I've instead removed the 56pf and put it on one side of a spdt and on the other side a 470pf. This helps remove some of the highs of the Pro-10 Blue which for me is on the bright side of the spectrum.

In the schematic you can see that both the bias trimpot and sundial pot influence the bias. It’s probably the most convenient to set the bias to 4,5v with the sundial pot in the middle so you can increase or decrease the voltage with the sundial.

Do you have a simple Alpha 250kA pot to see if the wiring works then?

All pots should go to ground indeed, otherwise your tone pots won’t work either.

you can use a lot of silicon transistors, as long as you check the pinout. I prefer BC183C

Are you sure that lug 3 of the volume pot goes to ground? Seems like there’s no signal going to ground when reducing? Do your tone pots work well?
