“How did they make that sound” thread

It's D standard. That's all. Only flatwound strings do that thing on the slides because of how stiff they are. It has nothing to do with the tuning or the rig.

    What's on your wrist?

I can't understad why people like negative LCD displays. In many lighting conditions they're practically impossibe to read but if Casio keeps making them it's because they sell.

    Rick Beato interviews David Gilmour

Is it an international thing? I first heard it on a George Carlin record. We sure don't say it in Italy and Poland.

    Rick Beato interviews David Gilmour

Beato is interviewing iconic musicians and producers who are going to pass away in the next two decades. Preserving their memory of classic recordings and songs is important work. Dislike Beato all you want for his other content but in his interviews he prompts the artist and then shuts up so...

    Rick Beato interviews David Gilmour

Gilmour had him in his studio for the second interview, Di Meola and Keith Jarret had him in their home, Lee Sklar made a follow up video on his channel saying how cool Beato was, etc. My guess is he's not that bad but I get it, some of you don't like Beato. Now can we focus on the genius...

    What's on your wrist?

Sorry for your loss. My mom passed away 10 days ago and now my dad is alone. She bought him a Rolex as an engagement present in the late 60s, a steel and gold Datejust with a black and gold face, which he wears to this day. I dread the day that watch becomes mine...

    What's on your wrist?

I'm Italian and I live in Poland. "Italian" in Polish is "Włoch", which also means "big hair", and "włochaty" means hairy. I, however, wave no werewolf arms and bear no carpet on my chest, though I have enough for metal straps to hurt.

“How did they make that sound” thread

How did he do that slide tone at 00:14? Flatwounds! Now how did Ginger Root get the bass tone at the beginning? I know he has an H22 bass with flats

    What's on your wrist?

Spoiler alert: analog watches are technology too. What you really want is to use the sun and the stars only. No glasses and binoculars allowed! :)

Fuzz Face - Does transistor selection really matter?

Now let's not go to TGP and burst any bubbles. You wouldn't want to ruin the day for those who spent dozens of pages dissecting the tonal differences between the blue and the teal Chase fuzz, would you?

Zulu strap? Cultural appropriation much? Hasn't Africa suffered enough? Joking aside I like it but those rings in the strap would bother me to no end.
