Two Rock Mayer Preamp Pedal - Tube not heating

With this being a genuine PreAmp, can it be used as a pedal into the front end of an amp, or do you feed it into the return of an amps effects loop?

    Getting old...

I'm lucky it's just in the last 18 months my eyes have stopped focusing quite as close as they uses to, thankfully it's not been a problem when reading or in everyday life, just SMD soldering and drilling small holes. I did learn quickly yesterday not to look around the room while wearing the...

    Getting old...

I started drilling, gave up, got in the car and drove to a supermarket where I bought some reading glasses, came back and was able to see what I was drilling! I feel it is down hill from here  As a side note, any etchers here?

Two Rock Mayer Preamp Pedal - Tube not heating

Okay, it looks like you just need to disconnect pin 9 from pins 4&5 and connect pin 9 to ground, which is the solder tab next to the 6v output on the SMPS board.

Two Rock Mayer Preamp Pedal - Tube not heating

If I've understood you correctly 4, 5 and 9 are all connected together? If so this is wrong, your 6v to pins 4&5 is correct. Pin 9 will need to be connected to somewhere else, I'm guessing ground. But sometimes filament heaters come off a transformer winding with a center tap, and it's the...

Two Rock Mayer Preamp Pedal - Tube not heating

You say you have 6V on the heater filaments, I just want to check that the 6v is between pins 4 and 9, in your diagram you only have a conection going to pin 9 there is nothing connected to pins 4&5, i.e. nothing to complete the circuit.

Your best method for removing thorugh-hole components from a PCB

I find solder wick works much better if you have a tub of flux you can dip the end into before using it, even if the wick is already impregnated with flux.

    CONTEST Germania

Hold your horses, there is a deception a foot.
Mr. Fig states, and I quote the scoundrel directly, "I just finished testing and cataloguing a lot of 50 Germanium PNP MP21A"
But Sir! I count with my very eyes 51, this is clearly a deception of grave magnitude, but I clearly see the secret...

62hFE with a leakage of 0.197mA. But wait...

I'd chosen to consult the akashic records for guidance on those numbers, but that does not tally with your message causing me to question the validity of the leakage value, all you say, all are under 0.120mA how can this be! Being stumped I feel...
