    2sk209g alternative?

Hello, I’m going to be building the eight ball overdrive, and I have all the parts except the 2sk209g JFET. Is there another alternative I could substitute in its place? Many thanks!

Paradise Overdrive with a unique enclosure

And here it is finished with the graphics. I tried to get as close to a Marshall font as I could find.

Paradise Overdrive with a unique enclosure

Hello! Finished up my Paradise Overdrive (Marshall Silver Jubilee). I wanted to make an enclosure that looks like the amp it’s emulating. For the red rocker power switch, I decided to use that as the indicator LED. I decided to “gut” it out for lack of a better phrase and place two ultra bright...

    Breakout board LED question

Hello! I’m wanting to build a pedal that has two (same color) LEDs for aesthetic purposes. I have a few breakout boards on hand that have the additional A and K LED hookup. Can I use the normal A and K pads on the main PCB board for one of them, and use the A and K pads on the breakout board...

Could this indicator light idea work?

Hello! I’m wondering if this idea could work, and if so, how to go about it. I’m planning on making a Marshall jubilee style pedal and would like to use a Marshall JCM style rocker switch in place of the LED indicator light—I think it would be a cool aesthetic. The switch wouldn’t do anything...

Next build: Plexi Drive, Benson Preamp, BSIAB2, other?

I like the Caboose overdrive. It sounds like the perfect pedal for your description.

Thanks everyone, I’ll roll with 3.7K

    3K74 resistor?

Hello! I’m looking forward to building the new Breakroom overdrive (Keeley 1962x). Looks straightforward enough outside of one thing. One resistor is labeled as 3K74. I’m fairly new to pedal building but I haven’t seen this before. Is it appropriate to use a 3.7K resistor, or would I need an...

    Dual SRV style overdrive. Recommendations?

Hello! I am looking to build my first two-in-one style overdrive pedal. I’m wanting to build a SRV “Texas blues” style pedal using a big 1590xx sized pedal. I’d like to to a TS808 (or variant) for the first pedal, then hitting a Dumble style preamp or amp in a box style pedal as the second...

    Sproing deluxe reverb not working

Hello, I am building the Sproing deluxe. I have it all done and put together. Everything powers on, the tremolo side works perfectly. The LEDs work perfectly. The only issue is that the reverb is nonexistent. I hit the foot switch and the LED powers on just fine, but the control doesn’t do...

Thanks for the help, guys. I appreciate it!

    A few Sproing Deluxe questions

Hello, I am sourcing parts for the Sproing Deluxe. This is my first non-overdrive build and it looks a little more involved. There are no build documents listed so I’m going off the board itself. A few questions: 1. It lists I need a L78L05. I linked Tayda below, is this the correct part for...

    Golden Falk build

Yes they are similar, but the LaGrange is better IMO because there are more tone shaping options. The only downside is that they are well documented as being extremely unreliable. I haven’t had any issues with mine, thankfully.

    Golden Falk build

You have great taste! I find that is the best amp out there for the price. Pretty much impossible to find anything hand wired at that price point.

    Golden Falk build

Yeah I used a hand wired AC15 as my only amp. I don’t play out anymore, I just play at home. A good friend of mine has a Blues Junior and I played the Golden Falk through it. It turns that Fender into a very convincing Marshall. Based on your Deluxe Reverb, I think you will have similar results.

    Golden Falk build

There were many good ones, but the great ones that stood out to me were the: -Colombo Plexi Breed -Bogner Lagrange -Zvex Box of Rock These three in particular have an amp like feel to them, in terms of touch dynamics and sag. I think they are the best ones out there, in my opinion.

    Golden Falk build

I recommend this build if you are into MIAB style pedals. I’ve tried/owned just about every single one that’s come out over the past 20 years. What I really like about this one is the voicing switch. I find that some switches similar to this on other pedals don’t really do much. But here, it...

    Golden Falk build

One thing I’m going to change is the knobs. I like the idea of the Marshall style ones, but the more I look at it they seem bulky and make the pedal look top-heavy from an aesthetic standpoint. I think I’m going to go with 15mm gold metal knobs (sames as the blue knobs in the picture, just a...

    Golden Falk build

Hello! I just completed my third build, the PedalPCB Golden Falk. It’s based on the Colombo Plexi Breed. This is a fantastic pedal. I am quite picky on my Marshall style pedals and this is the best one I’ve tried. It has that amp like feel to it, not just the sound. The build was...
