    What's on the workbench?

I need to start back on it soon. I put tracing things on hold when I lost my desk, but that's taking much longer than expected so I've started easing back into it again.... at my workbench, of all places. I've never traced anything at my workbench and it feels weird.. Different bench...

Since when have j201 TH been manufactured again?

InterFET has been manufacturing them for years, I'm not sure if they ever stopped? I have them in the shop for $4, which is cheaper than Mouser but still too damned expensive for a transistor that used to cost pennies.... Then there's the other thing... I assure you these are genuine, but...

Anyone use these jacks from ali express

Yep, they're good. I order them directly from Daier.

    Effects in parallel.

You shouldn't need an input buffer.... it wouldn't hurt, but it really should work without one. An active mixer would certainly be ideal, but again, you should be able to passively mix the outputs. The two yellow wires in your image (the ones between the footswitches) should be resistors...

Anyone Ever Use a UAF42 in a Pedal Build?

Is that the one DBA used in the Evil Filter? EDIT: Yes, it is. It's basically just a state variable filter in a single package, you can build one using a TL074 and the values listed in that image. https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/Pro-Filter.pdf I'm sure there's some audiophile hifi...

    What's on the workbench?

Can stripboard handle that kind of current?

    What's on the workbench?

I've seen three, they all looked like that. It looks terrible but the PCB is about as secure as a Boss pedal when everything is put together... With that said, I really really really don't want to trace this stripboard. I don't mind goop, 4-layer PCBs, SMD components on both sides, caps with...

    What's on the workbench?

Hmmm..... It's been so long since I played with one of those I really can't compare... I think this one has quite a bit more gain, but honestly I don't remember pedals I plugged in earlier this week and it's only Tuesday. 🤣

    What's on the workbench?

No, for that one they slapped a single tone control on the end of a Soldano SLO and swapped two component values. Somehow it works better than having the full tone stack... 🤣

    What's on the workbench?

Nah, it's this one. I knew ahead of time it was going to look like that.... but to be fair, it does sound great.

    Effects in parallel.

Without looking Aion's schematic.... The DS-1 output is buffered so it is swamping the output from the Rat. You'll need some form of mixer at the output. It can be as simple as a pair of resistors.

    What's on the workbench?

Sometimes you just need one more row ..... I can't say that I've ever seen this technique.

No. :ROFLMAO: It could be though.

    Voltage regülatör

Found it. Yes, 8A is the marking for the ST L78L33ACUTR https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/l78l.pdf So now you need to determine if the problem is the circuit or the regulator...

    Voltage regülatör

It's hard to say 100% with confidence..... It could be some form of 3.3V regulator, but if it's getting hot without an excessive load something is wrong. Either it is not a regulator, can't handle 9V input, can't handle the current requirement of the FV-1, the pinout is different from the...

Overcast Fuzz - Spirit in the Sky Fuzz

That's one less solder joint to worry about when the switch gets replaced by a "tech" because the sound keeps cutting out intermittently... Who's laughing now?
  19. Robert

    Voltage regülatör

There are 3.3V regulators designed to operate on a maximum of 6V input.

    What's on the workbench?

I don't have all of the values yet but it's a Fuzz Face with an emitter resistor (bypassed by another resistor+cap in series) on Q1.
