Not yet, but hopefully someday. I’m still learning but intend to stick with it for the long haul. I’ve sold about 200 and have given away about 50, mostly unique or small batch builds.

So I don’t have to keep buying them for $2 each. Just wanting to start a nice collection of diodes that will last me years.

I was reading about that little “s” connector. It looks like the ones I was looking at had those so I bought them.

I do plan on getting a DCA 75. I was thinking those were more for JFETs and transistors, but I didn’t realize they were for diodes as well.

I’ll have to study up on that whicker point stuff.

If I were to purchase diodes in bulk from India through eBay that claim to be genuine germanium diodes, what are the chances that I would be getting a genuine product and how will I know the difference. Also, what are tariffs like from India? I’d be purchasing 1000 diodes for $200-$400.

Is there a UV printer in the $3k price range you recommend for printing on enclosures?

I got a dealer offer making them $1 each for 10. I think originally they were about $3 each.

I measured the forward voltage but not sure about leakage. They measured around 0.27.

Well… I had picked up some unbranded vintage germanium diodes on eBay. They weren’t expensive, but looked pretty cool so I bought them. I’d like it to have soft clipping and hard clipping balanced in such a way that showcases the sound of the diodes.

I’m starting to think that the breadboard had something like a resistor leg on it somewhere that wasn’t making a connection. It sounded so different, and I remember also thinking it was odd to have 300x gain. I think I started with a 75k, then 100k, 200k, and landed at 300k. But maybe something...

Thank you. I didn’t realize it wasn’t called -9V. That would be confusing to see as an experienced developer since it has an actual meaning that is very different. I’ll start labeling those correctly.

This appears to have helped quite a bit. It got rid of 85% of the noise. It is still there, but not near as bad. Thank you. I used 10uF electrolytic. Do you think it would help to physically move the chip to a different location on the board?

I think it is technically considered a single power supply with +9V and 0V ground. (not exactly sure as I’m still in the learning stage) I’m using one power supply, 9V standard guitar pedal power plug with negative center. The rails are the red wire and the black wire from that.

Like 100uF? Should it be electrolytic?

For what it is worth, I order boards from time to time. I definitely appreciate PedalPCB. Building from the schematics is all part of learning for me.

Not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze. I may just retire this to the box of “not working” experiments… and try again later.
